There is only one way to understand what it means to navigate “electric”: to try it. Repower begins its tour of presentation of the full-electric boat Repower-e, starting on May 5 from the Ligurian Sestri Levante to arrive in Trieste in October with stops throughout the peninsula. The first is the Riviera Film Festival in the Bay of Silence in Sestri.

Repower-e, the beauty of being 100% electric

Launched at the last Genoa International Boat Show, this boat is first and foremost a “full electric” 10.5 metres long and 3 metres wide. It was born as a work vehicle and its first Open version application is for taxi services on Lake Garda. It can also be used in the world of pleasure, for a “different” navigation or as limo-yacht.

It exists in two versions, one Open and one Cabin:

  • OPEN: in this configuration is completely uncovered and able to carry up to 30 people
  • COPERTA: in the shapes reminds has the central part covered and is certified for transporting up to 21 people.

In both versions it has two electric motors of 20 kW each and can count on a battery pack of 40 kWh (extendable on request). With a cruising speed of 5/6 knots the batteries guarantee an autonomy of more than 10 hours and is designed to navigate in the sea with waves up to two meters.

The advantages and a few numbers

A day of sailing with this boat saves all the costs of fuel and oil that an endothermic engine requires. With about 6 € (approximate cost for charging a standard battery pack of 40 kWh) you will sail all day without problems. In addition, this type of boat can navigate in protected navigation areas, forbidden to endothermic engines.

Recharging

The battery packs can be recharged by connecting to the traditional “blue” and “red” sockets present in all ports. In addition, there is also Palina, the intelligent charging tool that will recharge Repowere’s batteries. In line with Repower’s mission to create a unique and integrated system for electric mobility tout court, the charging points serve not only to provide “electrons” to sailors, but also to cars, scooters and electric bicycles.

Repower boats are available for purchase and for hire.
