RIBs are becoming more and more important on the market and the uses of these motorboats are growing all the time. If you think about how many boat manufacturers there are in Italy, it is easy to understand how much Italian RIBs are appreciated practically everywhere. From France, the main export market, to Australia, passing through Spain and the Netherlands, the Italian RIB is known as absolute excellence. For many, it is one of the family, a protagonist in its own way in photo albums whose engine, or engines, are switched on to coincide with the actual start of the holiday.
The versatility of this type of boat lies in the fact that they are both safe and hihìgh-performance. The tubular provides security from the moment you are at the dock and about to cast off. It is in the nature of a RIB to leave the owner, even the less experienced, more relaxed in all phases of manoeuvring in tight spaces. At the same time it is a boat that is certainly more comfortable at anchor. Just think how easy it is to rest your head on the tubular using it as a cushion while lying on the bow sundeck.
Even in 2021 the RIB continues to exert a very strong fascination, confirming the growing trend of recent years. There are, indeed, inflatable boats to suit all tastes, including sport fishing. Some are faster, while others are also suitable for short cruises. Then there are the pure RIB “day cruisers” with just what you need for the perfect day at sea. We’ve selected ten models, between eight and thirteen metres long, that you can be sure of choosing your next RIB.
A new Clubman has arrived at Joker. It’s called the 22 Plus and it’s based on one of the models that made the boatyard’s history. Introduced in the nineties, the Clubman 22 has become one of the best-selling models ever. This 6.50-metre boat has not remained the same over the years, but has undergone changes to adapt to changing needs. Today, a new version is official: the new Clubman 22 Plus from Joker Boat. This new model brings even more space on board with two large sundecks areas fore and aft. Conceived as a family RIB, in 7 metres it offers plenty of space to give all guests on board maximum comfort. The model was premiered at the Genoa Boat Show 2021..

Based on the hull of the Marlin 24 SR, the Marlin 24X is a RIB with truly remarkable seaworthy qualities, also guaranteed by the central step in the hull that allows smooth and safe navigation. The tubulars of this 7-metre boat are in Neoprene-Hypalon and it is fitted out on deck with a central console (and small toilet room) with a double seat for the pilot and co-pilot. The back of the seat can be lowered towards the stern to create a cockpit with a central table that can seat up to six people. Folding down the table creates a large 150×170 cm sundeck. Joining the console seat with the bow seat creates a large sundeck (approximately 200×170 cm) under which there is also a storage locker. There are also accessories such as the kitchen seat, the rollbar with integrated awning, and the table. The maximum engine power is 250 horsepower, but thanks to the water lines, the dinghy can already sail with a 150 horsepower outboard.

The RH range has been one of Novamarine’s international successes. The new RH 800, 7.95 metres in overall length, shares the same philosophy with past models – that of a sturdy, marine craft – but with a new vision of the RIB: on-board comfort. The layout is that of an open walkaround with a central console and T-Top. Elegant and clean-cut in lines, it is designed as a classic boat for spending a day at sea. The hull is in glass-kevlar with vinylester resin, while the tubulars are in hypalon-neoprene and, in the standard version, are white. The military grey colouring is optional. This eight-metre can be powered by up to 300 hp with one or two outboard engines. Maximum speed is around 42 knots while cruising speed is around 30 knots.

An elegant model with the lines of a true Mediterranean RIB. This 10.40 m Nuova Jolly, with a waterline length of 9.80, is a vessel designed as a day cruiser that also allows you to spend a weekend away. Habitability was one of the yard’s main focuses and on this model it has combined a deck plan with plenty of space, both on the bow sundeck and in the stern cockpit (which can also be converted into a sundeck) with a deep V-shaped hi-power hull to ensure top performance at all times. At the extreme aft end there are also two swim platforms that simplify access from the water or from the dock and increase the liveable surface area on board. For those looking for a RIB that will also allow you to spend a night at anchor, below deck the Prince 33 CC has a cabin with a berth for two people, separate head and marine toilet.

After the Pirelli 42, the new Tecnorib inflatable boat also embraces the walkaround philosophy. Maximum liveability on deck, both with outboard and inboard engines. At the stern there is a large beach, which can also be used with outboard motors. Then the double sundeck, one at the bow and one at the stern, makes the dinghy very enjoyable when at anchor. The double-stepped hull designed by the Mannerfelt Design Team makes this 11-metre (9.99 m at waterline) cabin cruiser a joy for those who like to sail well and fast. Read our sea trial
Scanner’s new model for 2021 is called Envy 1200 and is the brainchild of Donato Montemitro, founder and owner of the boatyard, Scanner Marine. The yard never stops investing in new projects and innovation, and the new twelve-metre model offers a pure open deck layout. In line with the boatyard’s philosophy, it aspires to the right middle ground between performance and elegance. The new Scanner Envy 1200 has a central console with sporty, essential yet elegant lines. The deck is completely open with a large convivial space aft. The lines are sleek with a central hardtop with windscreen, but it can also be fitted with a T-top. From the console there are two walkways leading to the bow sundeck. At the stern, on the other hand, the philosophy is reminiscent of the walkaround, developed with a cockpit protected by raised walls to guarantee greater safety. The available versions will be with double inboard petrol or diesel engines, or in a double or triple outboard version.
LOA: 12 m – Max beam: 4 m – Tube: 60-65 cm – Compartments: 7 – Passengers: 16/18 – Engine: 2-3 outboard/2 inboard – Max power: 1200 HP
The aim of this new model is to combine the performance of a RIB with the habitability of a weekender. For this reason, in addition to the deck plan, the interior of the boat has also been carefully developed, with a cabin, head and storage areas. It is no coincidence that the new GranTurismo 12.5 is called the Cruiser and is the result of all the development work done on the Lomac GranTurismo 12. As far as the hull lines are concerned, the yard’s experience means that lines have been developed that are suitable for handling triple and double engines.
If you are looking for top performance and full control at the helm, Lomac’s Adrenalina range is the best option for you. The Adrenalina 8.5 is a boat with an overall length of 8.49 metres. Built, like the entire range, from infusion-moulded vinylester resin and neopentyl gelcoat, she is fast and sturdy. With a recommended power of 400 horsepower, it allows you to enjoy the sea at full speed with sportsmanlike performance. However, this inflatable boat is not only power, it is also a top of the range RIB with a double sundeck at the bow and stern for relaxing moments, fine finishes and highly customisable.
For Anvera, carbon fibre is much more than a material. It is the very essence of the brand and the Anvera 42, built by LG-YACHT, is no exception. An inflatable boat that interprets all the main trends of the moment in an almost 13-metre hull: folding bulwarks and a large platform to make the stern cockpit as livable as possible. Carbon fibre allows this RIB to remain light and powerful, while also reducing consumption thanks to the lightness of the craft. Forward of the helm station there is space for a sunpad just below the windscreen. Below deck there is a cabin and a bathroom.

Her name is Imagine 130 and she is the new 13-metre from the Zar Formenti shipyard. This is how the shipyard enters the segment of registered boats with a top of the range product. Sporty and elegant, it has two cabins, a head with separate shower, dinette and sundeck and large cockpit spaces. The boat is built using the infusion technique, which saves weight compared to layering. The T-top is made from a single piece of carbon fibre. The helm station offers space for electronic instrumentation and a cockpit with three seats suitable for high-speed sailing. Behind the seats there is a large structure dedicated to services complete with a max 130L refrigerator, galley with induction hob and sink. Under the stern sofas there is a garage for a 180 cm tender that can be supplied with an electric motor, and on a second level below with a separate opening there is a large locker for the technical area for positioning the generator, air conditioning, boiler and various services.
