As the major Mediterranean boat shows come to a close, the international boating season is already looking overseas. Next up is the
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
(Oct. 29-Nov. 2), where Australian shipyard Riviera will showcase as many as twelve models, including three world premieres. The most anticipated is the new 64 Sports Motor YachtSeries II, an evolution of one of the brand’s most iconic models.
Riviera 64 Sports Motor Yacht Series II
The Series II introduces an aesthetic evolution of the Sports Motor Yacht range, created in 2018 to combine long-range cruising with all kinds of water sports. The basic layout remains the proven one of the first series: walkaround configuration, large lowered cockpit to be in direct contact with the sea-essential for a water sports boat, fishing first and foremost-and an enclosed flybridge, which becomes for all intents and purposes an additional deck, livable in all seasons.
The bow, reached by walkways protected by a high stanchion, houses a lounge area with a large C-shaped sofa for eight people, which can be transformed into a technical area for the tender thanks to a small hauling crane.
Fine interiors
Opening the large glass door leads to the salon, where a large U-shaped kitchen dominates, finished in handcrafted wood with ample countertops and amenities that make no regrets about that of a well-stocked home. Opposite, an L-shaped dinette with a folding solid wood table and side sofa completes the convivial environment. The whole design focuses on a spatial continuity between interior and exterior, with warm but understated furnishings and plenty of light.
High-tech wheelhouse
In the flybridge is the wheelhouse: a powerhouse of technology using touchscreen controls and advanced navigation assistance systems. The Twin Disc Express Positioning System (EPS) automatically maintains the boat’s position by compensating for wind and current, while optional systems include Humphree Fins or Seakeeper 18 stabilizers, Starlink connection, Sentinel remote control, and Praxis Composite Solar panels. Integrated high-resolution cameras allow real-time monitoring of the cockpit, bow and engine room directly from onboard screens.
Below deck
Owners can choose between three or four cabins-always with full-beam master suite-and three bathrooms. In the three-cabin layout, the fourth leaves room for a lower salon; alternatively, a crew cabin is provided. Standard engines include two 1550-hp MAN V12s, with a full-beam engine room accessible from the cockpit or crew area. Riviera offers a five-year warranty on the engines, plus seven years on the structure and two years “express” on the entire boat.
