380 million in sales and 27 percent growth over 2017. These are the numbers for Sanlorenzo in 2018, which estimates a further 20 percent increase for 2019. The numbers are all there, with an order book of 500 million between 2019 and 2020.
On the strength of these numbers and full control of the company-after buying back the shares held by a Chinese holding company(CLICK HERE)-M Massimo Perotti, chairman of Sanlorenzo, is preparing for a new phase of expansion. Resting on a solid foundation, after the consolidation process carried out in recent years, the company is now thinking about how to further strengthen and grow.
How Sanlorenzo will grow
The plan presented calls for expansion through internal growth of the core business, which will be strengthened and implemented, and through external growth with new acquisitions.
Already planned is the first model in Sanlorenzo’s Open CoupĂ© line, a market segment where the brand wants to invest and renew. Also part of the group since last year is Luca Santella’s Bluegame brand, which Sanlorenzo wants to focus on strongly, as evidenced by the appointment of Carla Demaria, president of Ucina, as CEO of the Bluegame brand.
Large economic investments are accompanied by the need for a managerial organization structured to meet the new challenges. With this in mind, Ferruccio Rossi, formerly general manager, has taken over as CEO/CEO of Sanlorenzo Spa and president of Sanlorenzo Superyachts, the company’s division dedicated to metal models over 40 meters.
Growth and structuring will not only concern the interior of the group, but also the increase of the offerings with new and important acquisitions to improve and “variegate” Sanlorenzo’s offerings to play a leading role in the large group market. With a view to a comprehensive customer proposition, there are also plans to create a business unit dedicated to new initiatives also borrowed from more advanced sectors.
Massimo Perotti’s words about the project
“I consider the strategic plan approved by Sanlorenzo’s board to be both very ambitious and realistic. The steps in the direction of strengthening the organizational structure through the acquisition of established managerial experience and increased delegation make me confident that we will not miss our goals“
