Sanlorenzo SD90

In a marriage of elegance and technology, Sanlorenzo returns to impress with its latest creation, the Sanlorenzo SD90, 27 erect meters of class, comfort and pure charm. With imposing yet simultaneously graceful, light lines, the Italian manufacturer’s latest addition is undoubtedly a product that aims to excel, as much in brilliant design choices as in performance, a combination now characteristic of the shipyard and one that effectively makes the new 90-footer a excellent ‘entry level’ in Sanlorenzo’s SD line of the same name.

Sanlorenzo SD90

At 27.43 meters long and 7.0 meters wide at the maximum beam, the new Sanlorenzo is the result of the shipyard’s continuous stylistic and technological research, a combination of winning design choices and equally important objectives, such as the search for materials from alternative sources and the continuous pursuit of ever-improving technological efficiency. But, dominating in terms of appeal are undoubtedly the design choices, which are as evocative as they are elegant. Beginning with the distinctive retro appeal that inspired the exterior lines-a typical note of the SD range-the new SD90 boasts an all-important interior, a legacy of the successful collaboration with Patricia Urquiola, leading to elegant and undoubtedly distinctive furnishings, where the asymmetry and conversation between exteriors and interiors privileges what is perhaps the most valuable component of life aboard: privileged access to the sea and one’s own time.

Sanlorenzo SD90 – Exterior

As per the characteristic of the SD (semi-displacement) range, the silhouette of the 90 evokes the lines of classical imagery, drawing inspiration from the shapes of traditional yachts and ships, but declined on more contemporary planes, offering elegant soars and more-than-modern styling. Indeed, the deadwork transitions from a particularly high foredeck, then decreasing gently toward the cockpit and swim platform, drawing a clean and light profile, shy of any superfluous elements and particularly pleasing. Enriching the dialogue between the forms are the deck and fly, projecting lines that blend well with the hull, sleeking profiles and lightening overall visual weights-otherwise challenging given the dimensions (27.43 x 7.00 m).

In terms of the deck, the open spaces are first of all distinct on two levels, main deck and fly. First of all, starting from the first, we find a classic aft swim platform, but immediately move on to the cockpit, the first striking feature of the deck. Elegant and soft in both shape and tone, the cockpit is the first convivial area encountered, a privileged access to the main salon and a place protected from the elements, thanks to the cover provided by the architecture of the flybridge above. Divided into two levels, the bow offers a second open space dedicated to comfort, partly ‘recessed’ in the deck, towards the bow, and partly in the deckhouse, where we find a huge elevated sundeck, an exceptional lounge area surrounded by the sea.

Finally, to conclude the exteriors, the flybridge accommodates not inconsiderable spaces, complete with wheelhouse and wetbar. But, making its appeal particularly pleasing are the furnishings and lounge area, complete with unquestionably elegant table and sofas.

Sanlorenzo SD90 – Interior

As for the interiors, the attention to architecture and design undoubtedly do not go unnoticed, with extremely elegant forms, furnishings, and arrangements, as well as in continuous conversation with the outdoor vistas. Here, more classical styles and standards are somewhat overpowered, offering ‘fresh’ and pleasant spaces aimed at comfort and functionality. Indeed, all the choices turn out to be brilliant, with every nook and cranny taken care of down to the smallest detail to create timeless spaces, intended to make every moment on board almost unforgettable, fused into the surroundings and in the best of comfort.

Sanlorenzo SD90 – Salon

In terms of layout, the main deck first of all houses a large salon, galley and day service, as well as an immense forward master cabin, complete with every comfort, space and service.

Then on the lower deck we find three more cabins, all double and positioned amidships, reserved for guests. The engine room is located aft, while in the bow we have quarters and cabins reserved for the crew. Everywhere the care is manic, the details excellent, creating overall an incredible yacht, almost as if it were a masterpiece of design, an exercise in style that is not only successful but also perfect for living in, potentially for as long as possible.

Propulsion and Performance

Equipped with hybrid motorization, the Sanlorenzo SD90 first boasts two different propulsion options: a pair of 800-horsepower MAN i6s, or a pair of 1200-horsepower MAN V8s. Range is provided by no less than 13,000 liters of fuel tank, while the maximum speed attainable is about 17 knots, a remarkable number for a semi-displacement vessel.
