Mini Starlink
Mini Starlink

Starlink’s new Mini antenna is about to arrive in Italy as well, representing a real revolution for internet connection on board any vessel, regardless of its distance from the coast.

Features of Starlink Mini

Starlink’s new antenna is significantly more compact and lighter than previous models.
With a power supply ranging from 12 to 48 volts, this antenna weighs just 1.10 kg and measures 30 cm x 26 cm.
Because of its small size, it can be installed on even small boats.
Starlink, the satellite system owned by Elon Musk (founder of Tesla), offers an uninterrupted Internet connection thanks to a constellation of as many as 6,611 satellites, providing coverage in every corner of the globe.

The Competition in Space

In the competitive world of satellite communications, another American giant, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, has entered the space race.
Bezos has introduced a satellite Internet service called Kuiper, with a new mini antenna.
Although the first satellites have already been launched, the Kuiper/Amazon service will not be operational for at least two years.
This new initiative aims to compete directly with Musk’s Starlink.

Costs of Starlink Mini

At present, the cost of Starlink services is still quite high, but prices are expected to fall significantly as new competitors enter the market.
Currently, the new Mini antenna is sold for $600 in the United States, with a monthly subscription to the service of $30.
Competition in the satellite Internet field is just beginning, and it promises interesting developments in the near future.
