Among the many new products planned for 2023, the latest creation from
Saxdor Yachts
, which enters the 40-foot segment with a new boat, the Saxdor 400 GT. Sporty-looking and decidedly Scandinavian, the 400 GT will be the yard’s flagship, an all-weather capable of running at over 50 knots. It will be equipped with a double forward cabin, optional children’s cabin and fold-down broadside.

Saxdor 400 GT

Aiming to replicate the success of the
Saxdor 200
and the
Saxdor 320
, the shipyard introduces a fast, cabin cruiser, thus also suitable for short cruises. Strong point, again, will be performance with even 900-horsepower, outboard engines. This is combined with a design such that guests will always be in contact with the outdoors, as suggested by the large windows. A Cabin version is expected to arrive after the first GT version. The debut of the premiere, meanwhile, is scheduled for the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023.

Saxdor 400 GT – Exterior

For exteriors, Saxdor’s new 400 GT recovers and “pantographs” the 320’s double-step hull, promising high-performance water lines optimized for the dual outboard motors (2x 300hp – 40 kn / 2x 450hp – 50 kn).

The still life appears clean sleek, emphasized by forward chrome and the vents drawn by the folding broadside. At the layout level, previews hint at a forward social area, complete with sofas and coffee table. At the extreme stern, facing the pair of outboards, a glass window will enclose the cockpit spaces, allowing a constant sea view even aft, a solution already introduced in the Saxdor 270 GTO. In the middle of this 12-meter powerboat, as mentioned, there is instead a hard-top enclosure that combines the advantages of the open with those of the enclosed boat.

Saxdor 400, in fact, relies heavily on fold-down cockpit bulwarks that increase the usable area of the boat when at anchor.

Interior

Coming to the below-deck spaces, which are identical in all versions, the Saxdor 400 GT is designed to accommodate a double forward cabin, a separate full lavatory with a headroom of 1.83 m.

To diversify the layout and accommodations, it is possible to have a children’s cabin under the steps of the navigation ladder and a double cabin amidships to comfortably accommodate up to four adults. The middle cabin is accessible through a hatch in the dinette of the cabin boat and through the cockpit sofa.

Propulsion

Due to the use of vacuum infusion techniques in the construction process, the Saxdor 400 clearly weighs less than a hand-rolled boat. Advantages in fuel consumption, but also in performance. Already with the standard outboards, two 300-hp Mercury V8s, speeds around 40 knots are comfortably achieved. With the two sportier 450-horsepower engines (optional), top speed rises to over 50 knots.
