Say 42 is the new 12-metre 50-knot carbon-fibre yacht from the German shipyard Say Carbon Yachts. A decidedly flashy model suitable for those who are not afraid to have all eyes on them. This model arrives after the Say 29, famous for being among the fastest electric pleasure boats around.
Say 42
The new SAY 42 is the latest model from SAY Carbon – stylish, sexy, comfortable and of course just as fast and efficient as all other SAY yachts. The previous 42 has been completely reengineered and given a design that makes her a modern, timeless sports yacht. Even in many years her look will inspire. Karl Wagner: „Her styling, developed by KET from Munich, is a piece of art. There is a clear connection to automotive design. The SAY 42 is, as I would say, a supercar on water.”
The standard propulsion package consists of two Volvo Penta engines (V8 6.2 l) with a total output of 860 hp. This engine power combined with light construction and innovative naval architecture guarantees a top speed of close to 50 knots.
A characteristic wavecutter bow and sidewings of the ultralight carbon hull (T300 and T700 fibers) provide fascinatingly simple handling and maximum stability even at higher turning speeds. Due to her lightweight construction, the SAY 42 is, despite her performance, an extremely efficient yacht compared to the competition and consumes up to 50 % less fuel than similar yachts on the market.
The new SAY 42 has also been designed as a luxurious comfort zone: an optional hardtop protects against the sun, the Seakeeper stabilizer eliminates rolling and a voluminous cabin below deck guarantees privacy and classifies the new SAY as a real weekender.
In front of the mast – also made of visible carbon – SAY Carbon Yachts installed two Carbon seats, which can be adjusted both in height and in distance to the steering wheel. Two Garmin displays show all the relevant information and are also used to control the Fusion entertainment system. Other technical equipments that can be controlled from the helmstation include a bow thruster from Sidepower, underwater lighting from Lumishore and a gyro stabilizer from Seakeeper (Gyro 2), which eliminates up to 95% of boat roll.
Another technical highlight is certainly also the anchor mechanism. At the push of a button, the anchor lifts out of the flap in the front bow area, moves forward, and then lowers into the water together with a 30-meter long stainless steel chain. The foredeck, whose eye-catcher is a giant skylight for illuminating the cabin below, can be reached directly from the helm station via two steps. This access saves valuable time during maneuvers, whether in port or in the bay.
Up to 12 guests can experience the SAY 42 at the same time – the capacity is extremely generous for a yacht of this size. The color, the interior, and the fit-out of the SAY 42 will be customized for every owner to guarantee he will get exactly the boat of his choice. As every SAY model, the 42 can be configurated online at my.saycarbon.com
Prices for the SAY 42 with engines start at 681.200 Euro (ex VAT).
