A tribute to the companies and people who have made Barche a Motore great over these 35 years allowing it to be born, grow, and become great up to this historic anniversary. In these articles the great excellences of boating tell their stories and reveal their projects, making an important contribution to the knowledge of this world, which allows us all to go to sea, in all forms and contexts.

In the WTC line, the Weekender model features a unique deck layout called “sidewalk”: the deckhouse is shifted to the left to increase below-deck space without sacrificing the starboard walkway.

From day trips to long cruises, the right boat for your way of enjoying the sea.

For motorboats, 2025 is a year full of anniversaries. Among the key players , Scandinavian Boats stands out , celebrating its first five years in business. As the official distributor of the Nimbus Group in Italy, the company helps bring the Nordic philosophy—renowned build quality at competitive prices—to the Italian market. Like so many stories, it all began with a rejection. Giampiero Manzi, the owner, tells us how he got started in 2018. “As a boating enthusiast, I contacted the Bella-Veneet Oy shipyard to buy a boat. After discovering that there were no dealers in Southern Europe, I asked to become a distributor. They said no.” However, the shipyard later recontacted him as a broker for several sales, and he eventually became their distributor in Düsseldorf in 2020. This happened just before the COVID-19 pandemic, which, for the boating industry, would turn out to be an unexpected boon. Then, in 2022 in Cannes, Scandinavian Boats became the distributor for all the brands of the Nimbus Group, which had acquired Bella: Nimbus, Aquador, Edgewater, Flipper, Paragon, Alukin, and Falcon.

Nimbus 495 Flybridge: The flagship of the lineup, it features a simple yet modern design, high quality, spaciousness, and versatility. It’s ideal for long cruises at low speeds, yet capable of reaching nearly 30 knots.

High-quality brands and satisfied customers

Nimbus embodies the group’s entire philosophy: quality and cruising comfort in fast boats, ranging from Mediterranean layouts to more Nordic and classic designs. For all weather conditions, there’s always Paragon: a brand derived from workboats, reimagined for recreational use, featuring exceptional build quality. From the legacy of Raimo Sonninen—former owner of Bella and former racer who built his own boats to compete in Scandinavian championships—comes Flipper: boats designed for everyday use without losing their sporting DNA. Aquador has created a line of luxury cruising boats, maintaining the same quality and construction details from the flagship to the smallest model, focusing entirely on space and visibility on board, all at a truly attractive starting price.

A variety of products to meet every need, all of which share a common thread: quality. This is the same philosophy that Scandinavian upholds: providing customers not only with a high-quality boat, but also with service of the same caliber, especially in after-sales support. “I don’t want to be just the person who sells you the boat, but the one who supports you for as long as you own it, because if you’re happy with us, you’ll come back,” says Giampiero. “We don’t have unhappy customers, not even with boats that might have issues. And all boats have problems—anyone who says otherwise is lying. The point isn’t the problem itself, but how you deal with it.” This philosophy was officially recognized when Scandinavian Boats was awarded the prize for best after-sales service in the entire Nimbus Group.

Scandinavian Boats’ philosophy fully reflects that of the Group it represents: putting the customer at the center of the project, selling them a high-quality boat, and providing them with reliable service over the long term.

Nimbus’s Most Iconic Models

“If I had to choose, as of today I’d say without a doubt the 495: a combination of class, space, and comfort.” A 15-meter flybridge, the Swedish shipyard’s flagship, with a design that’s a cross between a trawler and a shuttle. Spacious interiors and generous volumes, perfect for those looking for a versatile boat to enjoy year-round. Powered by two 480-cavalli Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines, it’s a boat that handles well at speeds ranging from 8 knots to 27. “I also sell a lot of the entire WTCseries.”

These are the initials of Weekender, Tender, and Commuter—three different deck configurations on the same fast and fun hull, which is available in three sizes: 8, 9, and 11 meters. The Tender is perfect for day trips, the Weekender for those who want to spend a few extra days on board, and the Commuter for those who want to use it year-round. Although it’s a young company, Scandinavian Boats has quickly established itself as a leader in the Italian market for Nordic boats, but its goals are even bigger. “We’re expanding our headquarters, and above all, we want to have dealers throughout Italy to provide more comprehensive service.” But for Giampiero, the key priority remains supporting the customer every step of the way, to “ensure they enjoy the sea worry-free—just as it should be with boats.”

The W11 strikes the perfect balance between the classic open walkaround design of the Tender version and the cabin layout of the Commuter series: plenty of open space, but also good protection for guests.
