Foil, what they are and how they work

Catamaran or scooter?

Despite the two hulls this catamaran reminds an electric scooter in a marine key, also because you can go standing there. A central seat, however, allows you to sit and stay comfortable.  Three meters long by one and a half wide, it is equipped with an electric motor that develops 3 kW of power. No licence is required to drive it and it can reach a maximum speed of 15 knots. The Overboat is stabilized by 4 electronically controlled foils.

What is it for?

There are potentially many possible uses for this water toys: do you know the golf cart? Well, this could be a marine version usuful in place like yacht clubs, marine parks or for port surveillance. It also can be used as a tender to access the most coves in marine protected areas, where you can’t go with a normal engine. The autonomy at 11 knots is two hours of navigation. It remains to be seen how it will behave foiling with a person on top.
