At the Cannes Boat Show we tested the prototype of Azimut’s new Seadeck 7, a 21-meter yacht with a lot of technological content.
Built of 40 percent carbon, outfitted both inside and on deck with recyclable materials, it debuts a hybrid system with IPS developed in collaboration with Volvo Penta.
https://youtu.be/xmdA34gXiXA The boat is the second model in the range after the Seadeck 6, which arrived last year, again designed by Alberto Mancini for the exterior lines and by Thun & Rodriguez studio for the interior.
Seadeck 7 is powered by two D13s with IPS 1350 Volvo Penta, but also two electric motors of 160 kW each and a 384 kWh battery pack.
Four sailing modes: Full Electric, Standard Hybrid, Hybrid Boost and Crossover.
Maximum speed in traditional thermal mode 28 knots, in full electric 11 knots.
The most interesting navigation mode is certainly the Standard Hybrid, which is very reminiscent of that of diesel-powered hybrid cars: once you reach 800/900 rpm, the switch from electric to thermal occurs automatically.
We tell you all the details of the new Azimut Seadeck 7, and the price, in our video.
