Open appearance, cruiser features Senses Yachts debuts on the market with the Senses 07 (21.5 m), scheduled to be launched by the end of 2022. A brand that is new, but able to enter the market with timing and already carve out its own share of the public. There are stylistic figures, then, that make Senses immediately recognizable: we are talking about the bow eye or the glazed broadside or the glazed stern. The latter is, by now, an established trend regardless of whether there is a cabin or salon aft. The reason? Going out and facing the sea directly, a more direct contact with the environment.

Meanwhile, the shipyard is already working on the 05 and 09, 50- and 90-foot models. The philosophy includes an open main deck and a hull with covered and uncovered living spaces. Catalyzing attention on the lower deck is an aft opening with a large full-beam window that connects the dinette (or alternatively the owner’s cabin) with the outside. An open, almost walkaround due to the design of the upper deck, but with cruiser elements that place it in the range of boats suitable for those who like to sail year-round while staying aboard for a long time. The hull lines with a deep V, designed by Ceccarelli Yacht Design for Senses Yachts, are designed to provide remarkable seaworthiness with a focus on performance, not in a speed sense, but in hull efficiency. The deadrise is variable with an average value of 19.5°. All the results obtained arise from CFD calculations performed on various hull tests, also contemplating various types of redan.

The hull is fiberglass with single skin hull bottom, while and sides and deck sandwich. To reduce weight wherever possible, the deckhouse is laminated in infusion with carbon fabrics. The construction is entirely made from laminations and fittings made in Italy at the Senses Yachts shipyard in Monterado ( Ancona ) .

Senses 07 – Motorization and interiors

For the entire Senses line, the engines used are Volvo Penta engines with IPS feet. In this case two 725-hp IPS950s allow a top speed of about 23.5 knots at half load and a 16-knot cruise. IPSs turn out to be suitable for those who want great range, low fuel consumption and not high top speeds. The structure includes two decks, an upper one that can be all open or closed with glass windows (which can be opened with a button). At a cruising speed of 16 knots there is an optimum range of more than 500 miles with a CE A design catagory. The below deck, all on one level with no steps, provides a 3- or 4-cabin layout, each with its own bathroom to which a cabin for 2 crew members is added.
