To celebrate a great milestone, that of its first 65 years in business, the Verga1958 shipyard has decided to introduce a new boat, the Sestante 6.8. The model, signed in collaboration with the Milan-based Matteo Costa Yacht & Design studio, is a 6.8-meter boat that combines the tradition of classic lines, reminiscent of Verga1958’s previous models, with a super modern level of boat comfort and accessories. The boat is not only modern in its lines and equipment, but also in the type of propulsion. In fact, a 100& electric version is planned.

Sestante 6.8 – In Praise of Made in Italy

Looking at it closely, Verga1958 ‘s new dayboat perfectly embodies all the stylistic features connected with Italian nautical design, so in addition to being a tribute celebrating the shipyard’s 65th anniversary, it also celebrates Made in Italy design.

The Sextant Console 6.8

Capable of accommodating up to 8 people, the new Sestante 6.8 offers a classic dayboat layout, with an aft platform topped by a double sundeck and a double sofa in the cockpit, facing the two seats serving the center console. In the bow, a V-shaped sofa follows the bow and broadside design, creating a convivial area served by a central coffee table and additional recessed console seating. The console is very comprehensive, and everything that may be useful for navigation and entertainment on board can be found there. In fact, in addition to a Simrad multifunction chartplotter, we find here the tool to control the powerful Hertz sound system to which you can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to listen to your favorite music. From an engine standpoint, this dayboat is a very versatile boat. Sextant 6.8 is in fact a motor boat that can be equipped with an outboard from 40 to 150 horsepower. This means it can be purchased and driven by people without a boat license, but it also allows for gliding fun by installing a more powerful engine. But there is also a version powered by an all-electric motor.

The big “novelty within novelty” is the all-electric version, the Sestante 6.8e, which is also suitable for use in marine protected areas, especially in inland waters. The dynamic 25-horsepower inboard electric motor makes it possible to combine performance with autonomy in total silence and environmental friendliness. A key feature especially in some areas such as marine protected areas, or in inland waters such as some lakes that have (or will soon have) stringent environmental restrictions related to the navigation of endothermic-powered boats.
