A boat made for those who dream of cruising and exploration, for those who are not satisfied and seek further, but without forgetting about the demands of the medium, performance, comfort and luxury: this is the new Sirena 48, from the Sirena Yachts shipyard of the same name. At 15.96 meters long and 4.93 wide at the maximum beam, the shipyard’s new 48-footer aims to elevate luxury to a new level, especially for size, offering not only care and comfort, but details and spaces suitable for a wide variety of needs, from day-cruising to extended cruising.
Sirena 48
Beginning with the design of the spaces, the 48 offers volumes and areas that are ideal both for accommodating a large group of people on aperitifs and daily outings and for accommodating up to 6 people on extended trips, thus offering sought-after versatility, proving to be a multifaceted project aimed at meeting even perhaps discordant needs. In terms of hull and lines, the semi-displacement hull allows for comfortable and smooth sailing at all speeds, comfortably going from the calmest sailing-ideal for bays and roadsteads-to high speeds, with peaks between 23 and 26 knots, depending on motorization. But let’s look at the project in more detail.
Sirena 48 – Exterior
Beginning with lines and volumes, the Sirena 48 stands out imposingly on the water, yet maintaining a visual lightness thanks to the pattern given by the irregular surfaces that complete the still life, and with her the guardrail. The broadside windows also help to lighten the volumes, which are pleasing overall, finally ending in a cantilever, with the aft platform. Right from here, a privileged area for bathing and water access, we also access the cockpit, the first properly convivial place to be encountered. Spacious and protected by both the bulwarks and the overhang of the flybridge above, this one offers several configuration layouts, all of which include a table and a sofa, but differently arranged according to the presence, or absence, of the sundeck.
Proceeding further, we find access to the fly, an outdoor convivial area par excellence, equipped not only with a second wheelhouse but also with two distinct spaces. Aft offers a full-beam C-shaped sofa served by a central table, while forward hosts a particularly generous sundeck just beyond the wheelhouse. Returning to the main deck instead, on the deckhouse, we find an additional sundeck, also more than generously sized and served, at its foot, by an additional settee.
Sirena 48: Interior
Moving indoors, the first room one encounters is the living area, a large open space, full of windows and light, on each of its sides. As soon as inside, the first section is reserved for the kitchen, complete with everything needed for the single outing, as well as for a longer cruise. Beyond that, the entire space is devoted to a large convivial area, furnished with sofas and tables on the port side and a cabinet on the starboard side, a solution that leaves ample room for movement while also providing storage space for what is needed. Also on the starboard side, close to the windshield, we find the helm station, while, in the middle of the boat, is the access to the lower deck, intended for the sleeping area.
Below deck, in the sleeping area, we find as many as 3 cabins and two bathrooms. Aft of the midship towers the master stateroom, a large full-beam space complete with a double bed, sofa, furnishings and private bathroom with walk-in shower.
Forward, almost symmetrically, is a second full-beam double cabin. Slightly smaller than its predecessor, it too does not sacrifice space, providing ample storage, brightness and private access to the shared toilet. Finally, on the starboard broadside, opposite the two bathrooms, is a smaller cabin, complete with two single beds and a closet. Optionally, a sailor’s cabin, complete with toilet, can also be obtained aft under the cockpit.
Siren 48 – Propulsion and performance
In terms of propulsion, the Sirena 48 offers two different engines, both served by the same 1900-liter tank. The standard option includes a twin 480-horsepower Cummins QSB 6.7 engine with V drive, for maximum speeds of 23.5 knots. Alternatively, the shipyard offers the option of installing twin Volvo D8s, for 550 engine horsepower and top speeds of 26 knots.
