) is the dream of a great many boaters. But how should it be? Spacious, with a solid, sturdy hull and significant cruising range, especially on the larger models. Let’s see what’s on the market from 10 to 20 meters from mid-range cruising solutions to long-range cruisers.
Six boats for living aboard
Beneteau Antares 11 Flybridge – 11.6 meters
The new Beneteau Antares 11 Flybridge is a truly innovative 11-meter and is powered by two outboards. It comes after the coupe version, that is, without the flybridge presented last December. A small explorer with comfort and convenience packed into 11 meters. Peculiar both being flybridge and outboard and also equipped with a folding broadside on the starboard side. Cruising boat or comfortable weekender? It depends on the attitude of the owner and those who sail with him. This boat is ideal for those traveling with their families and also offers the possibility of having friends on board.
Cranchi T36 Crossover – 11.85 meters
The Cranchi T36, almost 12 meters long overall, has a hull length of only 9.99 meters. Despite its small size, it manages to conjugate trawler features (plenty of space, functional interior, and sailing range) with Cranchi style. In fact, the interiors are refined and classy, with the possibility of customization and even a third cabin with stacked beds. This feature brings it closer to a traditional cruiser. The dual core also appears in the motorization. Displacement with eight- to nine-mile-per-hour averages, as is the nature of the trawler, but also capable of riding at coupe speeds, with the 36 knots it achieves thanks to the two Volvo Penta stern-foot inboards.
Okean 50 Fly – 15 meters
If the flybridge cruiser is already a spacious boat in its own right, imagine it with the deck also equipped with fold-down broadside. Below deck 3 cabins, one amidships and one forward, both double. Further increasing the space on board is the large aft platform. A boat designed to take on major sailing without fear, powered by two Volvo Penta D8 700 550 hp engines with V Drive transmission or two Volvo D8 550 hp engines and IPS.

Grand Banks 54 – LOA: 18.1 meters
The new Grand Banks 54 combines classic design style with state-of-the-art construction techniques starting with materials. There is extensive use of carbon fiber, fully infused for the decks and superstructure. This allows the center of gravity to be lowered. In addition, it is essential for a boat designed for long sailings as well as short ones.
The Grand Banks 54is finished with elegant interiors and quality craftsmanship. Below deck features a lower galley, a midship master cabin, and a VIP cabin in the bow. The standard engine for the new Grand Banks 54 will be a pair of Volvo Penta D11s with 725 horsepower.
Outer Reef 640 Classic Azure – 19.53 meters
Presented at Cannes in 2019, this Outer Reef was the yard’s first trawler to be born with Mediterranean inspiration. The Outer Reef 640 Classic Azure is a boat as classic in exterior appearance as it is modern inside. The layout includes the aft galley and close to the cockpit. This allows the nearly 20 square meters of outdoor area to be quickly utilized.
Azimut Magellan 25 – 25 meters
The new Magellan is the long range cruiser according to Azimut, also featured at the last Genoa Boat Show. Innovative in so many ways, starting with the use of carbon fiber for flybridge, hard top and garage. The hull is of the new Dual Mode generation: the dual nature of this living work allows low speed sailing at maximum stability. When the speed rises, flow separation occurs from the lower skid. Aboard this 25-meter vessel are four cabins with 8 berths, plus two crew cabins with 3 berths.
