With the Solaris Power 48′ Open a new concept of open boat is born. Current yet timeless, like the American aragostiere from which it derives
The first boat, the Solaris Power 55, had amazed us. The second, the Solaris Power 48 Open, whose renderings we present in preview, made us exclaim: “wonderful”. It’s as if all the novelties that traveled in the air had materialized in this new Open walkaround of 14 meters. What strikes us is the timeless elegance. Innovative, but it’s as if we’ve always seen it. It’s the same effect that the ’60s Rivas did, which still today are “cult objects”. But everything about the Solaris Power 48, which is also produced in the Hard-Top and Flybridge versions, is contemporary. Starting from the side walls that can be folded down, thanks to which the cockpit increases its surface area by 20%, to continue with the innovative hull designed to optimize the Volvo IPS and navigate both in displacement mode at low speed, both planing at more than 30 knots. To continue with below deck spaces comparable to those of a high deck boat.
Another boat never seen before
Norberto Ferretti, who also in this case, as for the 55, is one of the fathers of the 48 with Brunello Acampora and Giuseppe Giuliani, was able to create a boat “never seen before”. And so we begin the virtual visit of the new Solaris Power 48 Open. The layout of the exterior is exploited to the millimeter, it seems to be on a larger boat. On the main deck, starting from the bow, there is a large shady sundeck, which reaches the windscreen of the steering console equipped with two ergonomic seats. The helm station’s instrument panel is dominated by two large touch-screen screens, where you can find all the information on board, navigation and charts. Continuing aft is the bar/kitchen cabinet that houses the perfectly integrated carbon fibre T-Top support. Aft, another large sunbathing area, also shady, while the cockpit is equipped with two opposite seats and a central table. And we arrive at the spectacular beach area with shower and multi-function staircase (sea ladder / walkway) 80cm telescopic retractable, and a nice garage for tenders, fenders and water-toys. From here, adjacent, is the large engine room.
Two versions of the interiors. in both the owner’s cabin is at the bow and is full beam. In addition to the double bed, there is room for two wardrobes, beauty-area and its seat. The brightness and the sea view is ensured by windows with portholes that can be opened, in the evening there is a relaxing lighting system. The first version of the layout houses a second twin-bedded cabin and bathroom, while in the second version instead of the second cabin there is a sitting room with sofas and a central table. The crew cabin, with bathroom, is reached from an external hatch at the bow.
With the Solaris Power 48 OPEN two possible motors, Volvo IPS 600 or 650. It reaches a top speed of over 35 knots and at a cruising speed of 20 knots has a range of about 300 miles. To see at the Cannes Boat Show in mid-September, It is worth a visit if you like beautiful boats.
