Motor-powered catamarans are becoming more and more popular. Many celebrities have chosen them, including the tennis legend Rafa Nadal. Combined with the positive trend of the market in 2021, it’s no wonder that boatyards are working hard to develop new models to meet owners’ tastes. StellarPm, a shipyard specialising in superyachts and refits, has decided to launch a new range of aluminium power catamarans, the StellarCat AL20-2 and StellarCat AL25-2

Power catamarans are unquestionably synonymous with comfort. The large size, which can be a limitation, is counterbalanced by large volumes and a stability of form that represents an invaluable luxury in the midst of the sea. In addition to these general characteristics, StellarCat catamarans combine the features of aluminium, a material known for its strength, versatility and lightness. This results in optimized performance and increased safety, thanks in part to the power coming from the Volvo Penta IPS systems.

The first two models in the range are the StellarCat AL20-2 and the StellarCat AL25-2. Other models are still under construction and are expected to be unveiled in the next few months. Both aluminium power catamarans can accommodate up to 6 cabins and 2 crew cabins.

Deck space and internal volume are, according to the shipyard, the main strengths of the range and the different engine configurations offer performance with speeds of up to 30 knots and ranges of up to 3600 nm.

StellarCat Catamarans: follow the boat construction

All StellarCATs will be built to ABS and CE Cat A12 compliance using StellarPM’s ProjectPerfectTM analytical construction tracking system for precise calculation of construction performance and progress. This allows owners, captains or those following the project an important control tool for tracking time, cost and progress available during construction.
