Following the commercial success of its previous multihull, the 55 Open Sunreef Power, Sunreef seizes the Discover Boating – Miami International Boat Show as a platform to announce its latest designed model, the 45 Open Sunreef Power. Hybrid, innovative and fully custom, the new 45-footer will also be the standard-bearer for a new range, entirely dedicated to speed, luxury and water sports.
Building on a not inconsiderable and forward-thinking industry appreciation of sustainability and luxury boating, Sunreef well combines know-how and experience in this new 45-footer, a catamaran

designed to meet the growing market demand on the luxury, elegance and speed front. Designed to achieve the most balanced combination of comfort and performance, the new catamaran indeed seems to be full of good intentions, promising ample space for both comfort and leisure. But let’s take a closer look at what, so far, we know about this project.
A new balance between comfort, sustainability and performance. This seems to be the direction in which the project is moving, which precisely promises a sought-after high-end catamaran that is faster and more spacious than an equivalent monohull. In terms of volume, the beam is generous, thus allowing for a large cockpit, plenty of space and, of course, good stability even in fast sailing. Also intervening to combine volumes with comfort are the folding bulwarks, provided on this 45-footer and ideal for expanding surfaces, thus offering areas aimed at relaxation, water sports and contact with the sea. In fact, the Gdansk shipyard announces plans to encourage leisure as well, reconciling leisure time with direct contact with the water. So plenty of space is also provided for storage of water-toys and diving and fishing equipment.
Finally, turning to performance and propulsion, the new catamaran features sleek, clean water lines, strong with a shallow draft, all to maximize energy efficiency, best promoting hybrid propulsion for which it is designed. In fact, the 45 Open Sunreef Power also winks at sustainability, and includes an integrated bimini with space for solar panels.
