Swan Overshadow

Swan Overshadow is the second motor model from the Finnish Nautor Swan shipyard, world famous for its legendary sailboats. After the Swan Shadow, it is again Jarkko Jamsen, designer of the Swan Shadow, who takes on the task of bringing Swan’s recipe for sailing success to the motor world as well.

Swan Overshadow

This new 13-meter boat from the Finnish shipyard is scheduled to debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023. Unlike the Shadow, the new Swan Overshadow focuses on increased livability on board, particularly in the stern, where as standard it will be offered with two inboard engines capable of expanding the enjoyable surface area. This, as per the yard’s goal, without going to affect or limit the speed qualities inherent in the DNA of this type of hull.

Deck

In terms of design, there is a shift to a more closed configuration, protected by a large windshield. The deck will be equipped with a wet bar with an outdoor kitchen and a sundeck more than 2 meters long, partly due to the different (inboard) motorization that distinguishes the basic version of this model from the Swan Shadow. The dining area is designed with versatile sofas suitable for both convivial and relaxing moments and a central table.

The aft platform has, in each case, the same functionality as the Swan Shadow. A popular feature on the new generation of powerboats, it has three positions: the first, center/standard, is for sailing. There is then an upper position that turns it into a gangway for boarding and disembarking when moored aft. Finally, there is the “stairway to the sea” mode in which bringing it down makes it easier to access the water.

Swan Overshadow – Below Deck.

The Swan Overshadow also changes below deck. It goes, therefore, from a more “pure” day boat to a weekender that has two possible interior layouts. The first has a double-bed configuration, the second a twin-bed configuration. The double configuration is more comfortable when spending a weekend away from home, while the two-bed configuration offers more space, creating a seating area.

Swan Overshadow – Propulsion

Basically, it will be offered with inboard engines to increase the aft space on the platform, but you can get up to three outboards with 350 horsepower each. The maximum top speed it is expected to reach is around 45 knots.
