Swift Trawler 54
A project with an international scope that aspires to be a state-of-the-art cruising boat. The names around the new Swift Trawler 54 are Bill Dixon for the “Fusion” hull and Pierangelo Andreani for what concerns the design. A natural replacement for the ST 52, it introduces on a more contained size much of the approach we saw with the 62-footer. Volumes are definitely a central theme, as is the optimization of interior and exterior spaces. The flybridge appears from the images to be particularly extended and equipped, the aft cockpit protected and the bow equipped with a large central sundeck. A boat to be lived in for long periods must be able to meet many needs. The large outdoor spaces are matched by an equal number inside, which, from renderings, promises to be particularly voluminous. On board, this yacht is expected to accommodate a full-beam midship owner’s stateroom to which are added two additional guest cabins (with shared bathroom) and a crew cabin.
The 17-meter “globetrotting” boat
The new Swift Trawler 54 has not yet been fully “unveiled,” but we can still give you some tidbits. In addition to Bill Dixon’s “Fusion” hull, the project closely involved stabilizer fin manufacturer Sleipner. Given the all-weather boat DNA and long sailing, range is a key element. Two 550-horsepower engines should allow this 17-footer to hit 20 knots but cruise at 9 knots with 800 miles of range.
At the same time to enhance the on-board experience and range in comforts, this hull provides on-board soluations of advanced energy such as solar panels and power generation systems through wind.
