The new range of stabilizers Quick Group looks the same at first glance: yet everything has changed. There are five points on which the Italian accessories giant has focused in order to offer a state-of-the-art product in a segment where competition is becoming increasingly numerous and, above all, technologically fierce.

Quick’s new stabilizers

From METS 2025, the largest marine accessories exhibition (Nov. 18-20), we were able to take a closer look at Quick’s main gyroscopic innovations. Basically, the optimization addresses the main critical issues of these devices that make them so popular, yet sometimes problematic. Here’s what’s new:

  • noise reduction: a focal point and fundamental to making the comfort of a boat that does not roll “real”
  • weight optimization, a diriment element in so many types of installation
  • consumption and electrical absorption parameters
  • the reduction of start-up time
  • The development of advanced control algorithms

What it means

This means that, now, Quick stabilizers already popular in the market work even better. How do you mean? From optimized flywheel mass to increased efficiency and advanced control algorithms, the updated range of Quick Gyro stabilizers has lower power consumption. This translates into less energy required and therefore a longer range. At the same time there is also greater electrical efficiency and optimized start-up times. In numbers we are talking about a reduction of more than 30 percent in the time it takes for the stabilizer to be operational from power-up, in the case of the X13, X16 and X19 units.

The stabilizer in the boat

We often observe how design, motorizations, and the general boat experience has changed in recent years. One accessory above all, however, has revolutionized cruising: we are talking about the gyro stabilizer.

“Thanks to advanced simulations,” explains Lorenzo Mongiardo, chief innovation officer of Quick Group, “we identified the main sources of mechanical noise and developed components to optimize damping and reduce vibration transmission. By optimizing the flywheel mass, we achieved the best-in-class spool up time on the market. We worked on electrical parameters, implementing updated power management algorithms that resulted in reduced current spikes and a more stable and predictable absorption curve, improving compatibility with on-board power grids and overall system efficiency.”

“An updated ECO function further enhances energy optimization. We have introduced new algorithms for flywheel acceleration control and torque calibration, enabling the fastest spool-up times on the market,” Mongiardo continues. “Finally, new algorithms based on advanced dynamic models and adaptive compensation techniques ensure optimal performance even in multi-turbine applications, designed for multi-hull vessels or those with small installation spaces.”

Quick systems make you navigate better

A company as cross-cutting in accessory manufacturing as Quick cannot help but make integration a workhorse. The SeaCentric system goes in this direction. In essence, it is a platform that integrates various components and intelligent control algorithms, combining Quick Gyro gyroscopes with the Intercepta IN and X series and the Viator fins, which work in synergy to ensure maximum stability and comfort, both while sailing and at anchor.
