ICONA 70

The Icona 70 is the first model from the new brand “Icona inspired by Mangusta, ” unveiled at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival by Effebi New Project, a company founded by the Balducci family and Stefano Arlunno. The yacht is built to Overmarine Group standards, and the goal is to offer a yacht that is ideal for use both with the family and with a small crew.

From the very first glance, the feature that stands out the most is the stern: two wings extend outward, increasing the span to over 9 meters, creating an extraordinary platform on the water measuring 40 square meters Equipped with a built-in convertible ladder that ensures easy and immediate access to the water. The same area can be configured for different uses, with an L-shaped sun deck and convertible tables. Two pieces of furniture, inspired by the vintage model of a well-known brand of guitar amplifiers, feature, respectively, an outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator, ice maker, and barbecue, and a DJ console with storage space.

The project aims to make the best use of the available space on a 70-foot platform. The maximum beam is 6.2 meters, while the interior height reaches 2.85 meters in the central area.

Below deck, the three cabins feature a ceiling height of 2.10 meters and receive natural light through the large, continuous windows cut into the hull. The owner’s cabin spans the entire beam and includes an open-plan bathroom.

The spaces are connected by a central corridor that runs from the aft platform through the two-level cockpit and extends all the way to the glass-enclosed cabin. In the living area on the lower deck, the large skylights help bring additional natural light on board.

Clean lines and integrated technology

The exterior and interior were designed by Igor Lobanov, who previously created the design language for the Mangusta REV lineup. The body features large, dark-tinted glass surfaces that blend into a sharply tapered hardtop, while the front windshield has no traditional pillars.

The engine compartment’s air intake, a 3D-printed honeycomb structure, is integrated into the superstructure’s design. Even at the bow, the technical components remain hidden from view: the mooring area and anchor locker are seamlessly integrated, as is the side tender bay, which can accommodate a jet tender up to 3.45 meters in length.

The fiberglass hull, developed by Studio Arnaboldi, was built using the same construction methods that the Overmarine Group employs on its larger yachts. The work of the technical department, led by Nicola Onori, has thus brought solutions to the ICONA 70 that have already been tested on larger vessels.

The dashboard also follows a minimalist design philosophy: no physical controls or buttons, but four 19-inch touchscreens through which the main onboard functions can be managed. The helmsman also has access to four seats, a joystick, Dynamic Positioning, a bow-facing live sonar, and Garmin systems featuring Easy Docking Advance Assisted, designed to make maneuvers easier and more precise.

Icona 70: three engines, up to 36 knots

The propulsion system includes three Volvo Penta engines, available in two configurations. At the top of the range are the D13 IPS1350 engines, each developing 1,000 hp (735 kW), with which the Icona 70 reaches a declared top speed of approximately 36 knots, a cruising speed of 30 knots, and a range of approximately 270 nautical miles.
