METS, Nov. 18-20, the world’s most important trade show dedicated entirely to nautical accessories, has begun. There is a lot of news that we will tell you about in the coming days: to make sure you don’t miss anything, sign up for the newsletter.

Let’s start with the first novelty. Evoy, a Norwegian brand specializing in high-power, fast-charging electric motors, has unveiled the second generation of the Breeze 120+ hp electric inboard system for boats from five to 15 meters.

Evoy Breeze 120+ G2

At the heart of the system is a compact 90 kW/137 kW peak engine(equivalent to 120 and 185 hp) with liquid cooling and IP66 marine protection. The system maintains maximum power longer than its predecessor, improving both acceleration and sustained speed in planing boats.

The second generation of the Breeze inboard electric system is priced 35% lower, fast charging is in 21 minutes(10 to 80%).

The battery

The battery pack is developed by Taiga, which has entered the orbit of Evoy. The Canadian brand (Taiga) specializes in the production of electric watercraft and snowmobiles. The strength of the collaboration with this brand? That the batteries in this way are practically “in-house.”

Reliability is ensured by technology already installed in more than 1,500 watercraft and snowmobiles in service worldwide. The result is a lighter system that has been tested in demanding conditions.

In addition, compared to before, the weight of the batteries is 100 kg lower than the previous system.

The propulsion system is combined with two 24 kWh Taiga NMC battery packs that deliver 48 kWh of usable energy. With charging compatibility for CCS Type 1 and 2 DC fast chargers, the system can recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 21 minutes, setting a new standard for efficiency in its class.

Performance and prices

With this battery, on plane, the expected range is between 20 and 40 nautical miles, depending on the hull and speed, while in displacement, at 5 knots, you can get as much as 8 to 12 hours of operation. But configurations up to 96 kWh are also available, for long range applications.

Due to the modular design of the entire system, installation is quick, maintenance is minimal, and most importantly, it is also particularly suitable for retrofits.

The new Breeze G2s will arrive firmly on the market in late 2026, with prices starting at €34,990 for the inboard system and €17,490 for the dual Taiga battery pack.
