There is a new weekender debuting at Boot Düsseldorf 2024. It’s the new Parker Sorrento 100, Parker‘s newest creature, thus introducing a 10.5-meter all-around with up to 700 outboard horsepower, an eye-catching design and potentially six berths.
Already nominated for the European Powerboat Awards for 2024, the Sorrento 100 presents itself as a hull designed to be versatile both as a marine and fun dayboat and as a weekender, to extend one’s days at sea while fully enjoying the full volume of the hull. In short, a little sport cruiser to keep in mind.
Parker Sorrento 100
The new Sorrento 100, Parker is optimized for the exclusive use of outboard engines. It is by all accounts a new sport-cruiser designed for both relaxation and speed. The hull is double-step with a very advantageous power-to-weight ratio. Another point, however, should be the ease of handling, which, combined with the 4 to 6 berths, could appeal as much to newcomers as to those considering a transition to larger hulls.
Parker Sorrento 100 – Blanket
The deck features an initial lounge area just beyond the aft platform, where there is a sofa/sundeck facing aft to which, contrasted, is the L-shaped sofa in the cockpit, with which it shares a backrest. Here, a table provides a usable space as a convivial area or dining area, while allowing the creation, by lowering down, of an outside but protected bed area from the hard top (can be closed), thus offering 2 extra sleeping places.
The cockpit, again protected by the panoramic roof, then features a wetbar area, the helmsman’s station and helmsman’s chair, and a second seat for the co-pilot, which can be converted into a sofa extension simply by changing the angle of the backrest.
Finally, a large sundeck for three people comes to life in the bow, reached by a windshield-enclosed, but hatch-like pass-through that can be opened to give both shelter to the cockpit and greater safety in movement.
Interior
Shifting the focus to interior volumes, the Sorrento 100 features two distinct double cabins. A first, forward, is accessible amidships via a convenient central access.
The second, on the other hand, is reached from the stern, through a hatchway carved out under the sofa and sundeck. Finally, the toilet room results just to the right of the entrance.
Propulsion
The Sorrento 100 has a double-step hull designed and optimized specifically for a pair of Mercury Verado outboard engines whose maximum expected power output is 700 total horsepower, thus equaling a compound torque of individual 350s. In terms of top speeds and range, it is still too early to have specific data, but the high power-to-weight efficiency ratio and the 465-liter fuel tank may already be indices.
