Beneteau Project E 2

Beneteau Project E, that is, the long motor cruiser according to the French giant. The travel boat changes face. Round lines, large interior volumes, lots of miles of range, and a hull that can take on the Ocean as well. If once there were (and still are) “trawlers,” today there is a new generation coming up. Beneteau is now winking at the world of shuttles, and for 2021 is preparing the first two boats in the new range, born under the name “Project E.”

Beneteau Project E: SUVs of the sea arrive.

Because, just as in the automobile world, they are the result of an evolutionary process. If we compare large off-road vehicles to trawlers, here these shuttles are the exact counterpart of the SUV. The interior volumes of the new Beneteaus will be one of their strong points: plenty of space, plenty of light to travel on the sea as comfortably as possible, and fine finishes, just as in the case of “Sport Utility Vehicles” on land. To complete the scenario, safety and autonomy, key elements for those who want to make long crossings. Going into the specifics of Beneteau’s project, we will see a pair of yachts for now, one of which will be more than 20 meters (over 65 feet) long.

To arrive at this result, Beneteau worked closely with Massimo Gino of Nauta Design and Amedeo Migali (MICAD). The Beneteau Project E boats will have a displacement hull, developed by MICAD, optimized to have many miles of sailing on a full tank of fuel and very high standards on board. Nauta Design’s interiors were designed with use of wood satin wax, use of fine leathers and fabrics.

Of the two project boats, it is the second model, the “Beneteau Project E 2” that is most striking, especially in its lines. At 22.28 meters (73 feet) long, it is designed to accommodate up to 8 people on board, plus 4 crew. Immediately striking is the shape of the bow, high above the water and enclosed, with a rounded shape clearly inspired by the “explorer” world. The first model is 18.95 meters (62 feet) long and has a beam of more than 5 meters. Designed to accommodate 6-8 people on board (to which the crew can be added) it will have 900 miles of range.
