Among the several Italian companies exhibiting their products and novelties at Mets, the most important fair dedicated to nautical accessories held annually in Amsterdam, was Riviera Genova, known mainly for its compasses. The company, which specializes in processing the highest quality plastic material, designs and manufactures its products in-house through a design office with 3D CAD stations. Here are what its latest innovations are for renewing boatboard accessories.
The compass to get the dashboard clear
Astra is the latest innovation in the field of compasses presented by Riviera Genova. It is a magnetic compass designed for ceiling installation, which promises to simplify the use of instruments on board by reducing the footprint of planks. Indeed, multifunction screens are getting bigger and bigger, and various on-board systems (watermaker, batteries and generator, cameras, stabilizers…) have their own control to be installed on the bridge, which is getting “crowded.” The most convenient solution for the compass, therefore, is to install it-for those who can-at the helm. Thanks to an internal dual gimbal mechanism, Astra ensures precise operation even in rolling and pitching conditions. The shell is made of clear polycarbonate with UV treatment, while the outer parts are made of ABS.
Not only compasses…
Historically known for its compasses, Riviera Genova is actually also distinguished for its design and manufacture of different nautical accessories made of high-quality plastic, dispelling misconceptions about this material. Ergonomic steering wheels, featuring a soft-touch material and stainless steel or polypropylene spokes, as well as mechanical and hydraulic steering wheels designed for exceptional strength, are part of the company’s catalog. Waterproof marine speakers, made entirely in Italy, complete the range with high-quality sound and different variants for every need.
