Furuno unveiled FCV-600 and FCV-800, two new fishfinders suitable for both recreational and professional fishermen. Its power and technologies, such as the two simultaneous TruEcho CHIRP and CW probes, earned the FCV-800 the Best New Product NMEA 2023 award. Also convincing to the jury were the multiple options regarding connectivity and compatibility of Furuno’s new in-house fishfinder, which also connects to thededicated smartphone or tabletapp thanks to its built-in WiFi.
The special features of the Furuno FCV-800
Apart from the size of the color TFT LCD display (8.4 inches the larger, 5.7 inches the smaller) the technology found on these two fishfinders is virtually the same. The main strength that differentiates the FCV-800 from the FCV-600 is the ability to use the two CW and CHIRP probes simultaneously. The traditional CW continuous-wave transducer, which can transmit the signal on a single frequency, is combined with the new TruEcho CHIRP that can transmit the signal modulated in linear frequency. This innovation makes it possible to take full advantage of some very useful features, even simultaneously:
- Improves the resolution and definition of the CHIRP echogram
- ACCU-FISH: allows assessment of depth (2 to 100 m) and size (10 to 199 cm) of fish
- Seabed Discrimination: allows you to distinguish between different types of seabed (rock, gravel, sand or mud) by providing a clear indication of the prevailing type recognized directly on the display, and to recognize any wrecks.
All this means easier and faster identification, stabilization, and separation of targets, easier identification of the most fishy areas, and consistently clear and sharp images even at great depths.

Common Features: FCV-800 and FCV-600
On board both fishfinders we find the wireless module, which allows you to keep an eye on the seafloor from any device (tablet or smartphone, iOS or Android) allowing you to move around the boat without losing sight of the targets. The display also features two new color combinations-Sunlight and Yellow-that greatly improve visibility when in high intensity sunlight.
The range of colors has also been expanded, making it easier to recognize the structure of fish from that of the seabed and coral reefs due to the multiple shades. Both fishfinder models have a maximum range of 1200 m. Very interesting is the proprietary (developed by Furuno) RezBoost technology. This feature enables more powerful signal processing by maximizing the capacity of traditional narrowband transducers, returning sharp images that are up to eight times clearer than a classic signal processing technology.
