Boat Accessories. A newly developed self-inflating life jacket, a helium balloon at a height of 5 meters to detect man overboard, and artificial intelligence to facilitate the use of thermal imaging cameras. These are the three accessories we chose, at METS Amsterdam 2024, as the most interesting in terms of safety on board . Ecco come funzionano e il prezzo.

Team-O

It is a self-inflating life jacket, made in England by Team-O Marine, which proposes a new volume distribution in the inflatable chambers. Result? Not only a greater upward buoyancy, but also a better and safer position of the man at sea, with the mouth further from the water.

Airmarker

Instead, it is a device developed by a Swiss start-up and is a helium balloon that aids in the detection of humans at sea. Connected to the latter with a 5-meter-long selvedge it is illuminated (for the duration one day) and remains inflated three days. Activation is manual.

Boat Accessories: SEA.AI

SEA.AI, finally, is a black box that leverages artificial intelligence to be connected to thermal imaging cameras (FLIR models for now) to make them easier to read. Again the theme is safety on board: ollegible “plug and play,” it basically “reads” what is sometimes difficult to interpret from what the thermal cameras reproduce on the on-board monitors: it then identifies objects and vessels in the water, calculates their distance, speed, and thus also their “dangerousness.” In our video we tell you how they work and their price.
