Camuffo C4 Daycruiser – sistership

It is not uncommon to read about new, fledgling shipyards rather than to find out about the rebranding of brands celebrating their 50th or 100th anniversary. Here, however, it is different. For sale on our flea market is a great little vessel, a 6.9-meter mahogany daycruiser signed by a little-talked-about but absolutely essential shipyard. It is the Camuffo Shipyard, universally known as the oldest shipyard in the world to still be in business, a business it has been carrying on since 1438… And it bears its signature the Classic Boat we are talking about, a little classic: the Camuffo C4 Daycruiser.

Cabin cruiser, crafted entirely of mahogany, cherry and teak, and powered by a pair of new 135-horsepower Mercruisers (2020), the Camuffo C4 Daycruiser is part of a family of boats that are daughters of more than 6 centuries of tradition, hulls often compared to Stradivarius, the Stradivarius of the sea. For that matter, Camuffo dates all the way back to the era of the Serenissima, with a shipbuilding culture ranging from late 16th-century galleys to early 19th-century vessels, from Mas vessels in the World War, to more recent cruisers such as the C55 and C65.

Camuffo C4 Daycruiser – Deck and interior

Coming to the hull for sale itself, the C4 Daycruiser is a small weekender ante-litteram, a late 1960s hull designed to make the most of one’s days at sea, while offering, at the same time, the opportunity to spend the night aboard in a small forward cabin complete with a V berth and toilet.

Coming to the deck plan, however, the bow is flush, clear of all obstructions and strictly teak, restored in 2022. In the middle of the boat, behind the windshield, is the helm station, served by a small armchair with a fold-down backrest and updated with a chartplotter, also from 2022. Just to the left is access to the interior volumes and a second chair. Further aft, however, the cockpit comes to life, complete with a settee and shaded by a rigid canvas bimini.

Coming to the powertrain, the C4’s 2.9-ton displacement is propelled by a pair of 135-horsepower Mercruiser inboards, installed in 2020 and fresh from only 45 hours of running. The boat can be visited in the province of Venice. For more information, click HERE for the link to the announcement.
