Some lines you can’t resist, let alone the wood. No, it’s not just for “crazy” people nostalgic for the boats of yesteryear. Just a few months ago we were telling you about a wooden Baglietto Elba from the 1960s and how it was refitted, with the associated refit and maintenance costs. Today, however, browsing through our classifieds section we came across a special model. We are talking about a Posillipo Positano, also made of wood and from the 1960s.
Posillipo Positano
Admittedly, the pictures do not do it much justice, and seeing it on a trolley versus its natural habitat, the water, is not the same. Otherwise, however, this wooden speedboat looks to be in excellent condition. It is for sale in Turin and is a Positano Posillipo from the 1960s. This brand is one of the pieces of Italian boating history. The Posillipo shipyard took its name from the Posillipo caves, near which the shipyard was located. It is 5.20 meters long, two meters wide and is a classic Italian runabout symbolic of the Dolce Vita. A “pure,” day-boat that is described as perfect in all its parts. On board it installs an original Gray marine 6-cylinder inboard engine, model 109 RD.
