The proof is in the video below, where two boys speed past the side of a boat before swerving abruptly and completely losing control of the dinghy they are riding in. By now unmanageable, the dinghy ends its course against a boat moored not far away. It is unclear from the video whether there are any casualties or injuries, but the probability is certainly high.
