In 1974 one of the greatest artists in history, David Bowie, commissioned a nearly 40-meter yacht from the Benetti shipyard. In 1977 Deneb Star was delivered, and in the 1980s it was used for cruises along the Italian coast. What does the yacht that belonged to David Bowie look like? El Caran has a sky lounge and a large outdoor deck space. The design is classic, starting with the shape of the stern while dark wood elements have been added to the interior.
Boat International reports how aboard this yacht the influence of David Bowie as a multifaceted artist is most evident. Indeed, it is well known that in addition to being a singer and actor, Bowie also had a passion for painting. On board are numerous paintings on the walls and a selection of very distinctive furnishings, especially in the main salon.
El Caran can accommodate up to 12 people divided into six cabins, including a master cabin. It also has room for a crew of seven who can find privacy in five cabins.
The motorization of this yacht consists of two MTU engines with which it touches 12 knots maximum with a cruising speed of 10 knots. In addition, El Caran is equipped with stabilizers for added comfort when at anchor.
This classic yacht (with a very special history) is currently for sale on behalf of Fraser Yachts, with an asking price of 4,850,000 euros (about $5,098,465).
