They sell three “weird” boats for those who like crazy refits (from 10 to 27 meters)

THE PERFECT GIFT!

Give or treat yourself to a subscription to Boats in Motion print + digital and for only 39 euros a year you get the magazine at home plus read it on your PC, smartphone and tablet. With a sea of advantages.

We know, there are “crazy people” hiding among you who, when they see old abandoned hulls, immediately start doing the math. What to pull down, how to remotorize, where to cut, what to add. Because, let’s face it, who is not happy when they see or read about a boat that has been reborn after being forgotten?

To tickle your fancy, we got busy and searched (trivially, on subito.it) three out-of-the-box vehicles.

If you embark on any of these ventures, please let us know at in**@***********re.com

Dutch tugboat: to feel a bit like Bud Spencer

The one proposed is a Dutch-made tug, 17 meters long, 3.70 meters wide and with a draft of 1.40 meters. During its career, it was equipped with bow pushers and winches to tension cables: it was evidently also used on canals to push barges.

The boat is powered by a Deutz BA6M816, 6-cylinder inline engine with turbocharged 450 hp and just overhauled (about 1,000 hours after overhaul). This is a boat that has been used until recently, as the hull was done in September 2022, along with a new shaftline and overhauled and balanced propeller . Excellent choice for a conversion to a pleasure boat.

Former Guardia di Finanza patroller: not to go unnoticed

Tired of getting stopped every time by the Finance Guard? If you can’t beat them, join them! We are joking, of course. Seriously speaking, though, there is for sale a Corrubia Class patrol vessel of the Guardia di Finanza, serving as a coast guard for surveillance activities such as countering and suppressing illicit trafficking in territorial waters and on the high seas.

The original design of this class is from the Cantieri Navali del Golfo di Gaeta, which produced the first 11 units; in this case, this is one of the first two boats produced, because it mounts 3600-hp Isotta Fraschini ID36 SS 16V engines, replaced with MTUs by the third hull produced. Of course, all armaments were removed (30 mm Breda machine gun in the bow, for example), but the radars and antennas remained. We are sure that when you arrive at the roadstead you will not go unnoticed….

Dedicated to those who want to fly on water: inflatable boat FB Design 33

Speed lovers will have jumped in their chairs: a 33-foot FB Design inflatable boat without engines is for sale. FB stands for Fabio Buzzi (read his story here), a true legend of Italian powerboating and designer of some of the fastest and most victorious hulls in the world. That this is a dinghy designed for very fast sailing is clear from the aerodynamic fairing of the console, the deep V-shaped step hull and the ability to mount outboard motors with maximum power up to 1,000 hp.
