There is never enough power aboard modern boats, and in fact even those with small boats find themselves having to power – often – energy-intensive utilities. Voltab, an all-electric portable generator designed and made in Italy, is a smart solution to remedy this problem.
Voltab stands out for its design, developed by Turin-based startup Reefilla in collaboration with Granstudio. The result is a device that – to boating enthusiasts – resembles the shape of a folding carbon catwalk, but hides advanced technology inside. Weighing just 19 kilograms and similar in size to a briefcase, Voltab is easily transportable thanks to its built-in wheels, making it ideal for use on boats, but also in camping, RVs or any outdoor situation.
Despite its compactness, Voltab offers a power output of 4.2 kW and a capacity of 3.1 kWh, providing enough energy to power numerous devices on board. With its capacity, it can provide minimal autonomy and services to a motorhome (and thus similarly to a boat) for about a day and a half. If needed, it can even recharge an electric car for about 30 km of range.
Voltab represents an environmentally friendly and silent solution , completely eliminating emissions and noise typical of gasoline generators. The generator is available in two versions: one equipped with a double Schuko socket to connect any appliance, the other (Voltab EV) that integrates a Type 2 socket, ideal for charging electric vehicles even in the absence of dedicated infrastructure. The entire production process of Voltab takes place in Italy, with a special focus on the environment: the generator is built using recycled materials, confirming the green vocation of the project.
This portable generator will appeal not only to boating enthusiasts, but also to mobile workers, camping andoutdoor enthusiasts, and those who want a reliable power source during power outages or emergencies.

Voltab can already be ordered on the official voltab.energy website, with a promotional price of 2,399 euros for the first 100 units (instead of 2,999 euros), and deliveries are expected by September 2025.
