Another brand shows its confidence in the development of electric mobility on water. It is Capoforte who, after the launch of theCapoforte SX200 at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, unveils the new Capoforte SQ240i.
Headmaster SQ240i
Aschenez shipyards are famous in the world of powerboat construction starting with Invictus, a brand that in a very short time has managed to conquer the market with instantly recognizable and classy models. The Roccelletta di Borgia shipyard near Catanzaro will also build the new Capoforte SQ240i, the Italian brand’s first all-electric model.
That electric mobility is in the spotlight today is hardly a mystery. Are electric boats coming out of the niche? In some cases yes, as evidenced by the Candela C-8 of which more than 100 have been sold since October.
Now Italian brand Capoforte unveils its electric boat philosophy, focusing on technology, practicality and elegance in just seven meters.
Chieftain SQ240i – Blanket
The new 100% electric Capoforte model will be 7.38 meters long and 2.46 meters wide. The deck is designed to be able to accommodate up to 8 people and once again bears the signature of designer Christian Grande. It is not a “sporty” boat, and this soft line enhances what is a new, slower, more relaxed vision of going to sea.
“The relaxed and convivial atmosphere on deck,” explains Christian Grande . is enhanced by an exceedingly versatile layout, in which a large folding table can give way to an extra cushion. In the latter configuration, the entire bow section of the boat transforms into a full-beam sundeck for maximum comfort“.
A center console with ample space around it for easy movement dominates in the practical center. In the stern, however, is a large sundeck that allows full enjoyment of a full-beam platform.
Chief SQ240i – Propulsion
This first electric Capoforte first saw a new hull design. This is because the water lines of an electric boat differ (and not a little) from those of one with a heat engine. There are two possible engines: Molabo Iscad 50 kW, inboard, and Yamaha Harmo 3.7 kW, outboard with pod. The entire hull is made with infusion technology.
The boat will be unveiled at Boot Düsseldorf 2023, after a limited series of private events by the shipyard’s dealer network.
