News from Florida for lovers of fishing and dedicated hulls. Bertram Yachts, among the leaders in U.S. shipbuilding, has in fact announced a new sportfisher: the Bertram 34CC arrives. 10.92 meters long, strong with up to 1,050 horsepower and equipped for sportfishing and all its needs, the American’s new 34-footer is a platform dedicated to all lovers of the genre, but with a twist. On board, in fact, to lend itself to more convivial, and family uses as well, there will be no shortage of relaxation areas and weekender interiors, with toilets, double berths, and amenities suitable for spending even pleasant weekends away.

Bertram’s new Center Console, in short, is intended to be a versatile hull capable of lending itself to different uses, thus offering, on the one hand, everything needed for fishing and, on the other, what is indispensable for spending both pleasant days at sea in company, as well as weekends on board. Set up as a center console, with a center cockpit and forward cabin, it will know how to combine dedicated spaces for relaxation with areas intended for its main use, including four large thermally insulated fishboxes and an ever-present side hatch. While waiting for its “live” debut at the Genoa Boat Show, here, meanwhile, is a preview.
Bertram 34CC – Exterior
To best marry the two intentions to which its new 10.9 meters is intended to lend itself, Bertram’s design team first starts with a walkaround layout with a center console and hard top to protect the wheelhouse. Around this central body, served by 3 ergonomic seats and complete with access to the interior, the on-board spaces are thus developed, fundamentally distinct by use but not necessarily bound to it.
First, in the stern are the first rod holders and a live bait tank, all serving a particularly spacious and uncluttered cockpit so that every movement is made as easy as possible. Here, in addition to a settee placed in the opposite direction of travel, there are also four large thermally insulated fishboxes to keep cool whatever results one’s fishing trips may offer. The left broadside, then, offers a flush-deck hatch to facilitate both loading and unloading and catch retrieval.
In the bow, however, the more “relaxed” spirit of the design emerges, with a convivial area dedicated to comfort, complete with double sofas, stereo system and cup holders. A solution that thus offers a second space on board that, however, looks less at fishing and more at socializing, thus taking advantage of the different areas of the deck to meet the different uses that the hull wants to be able to satisfy.
Bertram 34CC – Interior
Demonstrating its intent, the Bertram 34CC also comes to life below deck, highlighting, right here, its willingness to be able to combine two different approaches to the sea. To cater, then, for extended outings of all kinds, the forward volumes offer an open-plan lounge with sofa, sink, and hidden toilet (under a countertop).
In response to eventualities, however, the sofa offers a fold-down backrest, easily turning into a double bed. There is no shortage, again, of dedicated holders for one’s gear, including rod holders, inserted into the bulkhead to the left of the sofa itself.
Bertram 34CC – Motorization
Looking at the propulsion component, served by 1363 liters of fuel tank, the new Bertram offers two distinct engine options, strictly outboard. In its standard version, in fact, it will be 2 Mercury Verado V10s of 400 horsepower that will propel the brand’s 34-footer, while, in the upgraded version, 1050 horsepower will be offered by a trio of outboards, also Mercury, but of 350 horsepower each.
