For those who appreciate extended cruising, life spent outdoors and the coolness that only a flybridge can offer, there is a new 14.9-meter debuting on the European market, and it aims to meet these needs. Boasting a large furnished flybridge, complete with sundeck and lounge areas where they are most sought after, and capable of accommodating up to 16 people on board, including 6 overnight, is the new Sessa F48, signed
Sessa Marine
. Inspired by the previous F47, now longer, more spacious and even more outdoor-oriented, it aims to marry comfort and performance, offering maximum relaxation and top speeds of 35 knots.
Sessa F48
Designed for markets where outdoor living is a key component, the new F48 draws lessons from its predecessor, maintaining its strengths while also offering, for discerning owners, that extra touch expected of any new model. So the Sessa F48 is not only longer, but also more versatile, now with two distinct layout options to choose from, plus an optional hard-top to protect, even more, from the hot summer sun. Here it is, however, in more detail.
Exterior
Significant forward momentum, flush bow with sundeck and fly projected forward, offsetting the push aft given by the windshield. A balancing act that works and pleases the eye, drawing an overall balanced hull visibly dedicated to outdoor life. Lounge area and flybridge are certainly a clear indication of this, but it is right from the swim platform that this hull’s dedication to outdoor spaces is evident. Just beyond this, the cockpit welcomes in turn with a first convivial area, an L-shaped sofa in fact cluttering the aft portion, served by a low coffee table and protected, from above, by the rear extension of the fly.
Opposite the sofa, an opening window connects interior and exterior, creating a space that can communicate with the outdoors, an essential quality both for immersing oneself in one’s surroundings and for conviviality and companionship. Competing with the cockpit, however, is undoubtedly the flybridge just above it, complete with a large sofa with table, a bar cabinet with sink and refrigerator, ample sundecks, and dedicated lounging areas. Here, a canvas bimini offers protection from the sun, both in roadstead and when sailing.
To conclude the outdoor spaces, the bow is proposed as the main area for relaxation and rest. Spacious and easily accessible through the walkways, there is a large central sundeck here, capable of accommodating as many as 4 people lying down, as well as turning into a convivial area to sit and enjoy sailing.
Sessa F48 -Interior
Life spent outdoors is certainly a focus of the design behind the new F48, but this does not detract from the interior, which in turn is set to offer the maximum obtainable from the available space. Starting from the deck, in fact, the F48 offers two layout solutions designed to be able to best meet the different needs of owners and the lifestyle to which the boat will have to lend itself. In a first case, then, on board we will find to welcome us a first convivial area consisting of a sofa facing a cabinet with a television set, and just beyond that, the central portion of the salon will be devoted to the galley, arranged in a C-shape and placed just opposite the helm station.
In the second version, however, the Gourmet, the matter changes, with the kitchen immediately positioned at the entrance, larger, and facing both the relaxation area (consisting of a sofa) of the dinette and the cockpit behind, thus putting the interior and exterior in direct communication.
Moving, however, the attention below deck, the sleeping area of the new Sessa F48 consists of a complex of 6 beds, distributed over 3 separate cabins, plus a fourth, separate from the others and intended to accommodate a possible crew member. In terms of layout, the master cabin finds its place in the bow, where it uses the entire available beam (about 4 meters) to offer a double bed, cabins intended for clothing and stowage, and an en suite toilet complete with shower. Two additional twin cabins with single beds then make up the layout, also complete with a closet for clothing, but provided, instead, with a shared toilet accessible externally from them. The sailor’s cabin, on the other hand, enjoys its own private toilet.
Motorization and performance
Coming to the engine room, the new Sessa F48 will be equipped with a pair of Volvo Penta D8 IPS 700 engines, totaling 1100 total horsepower served by about 1300 liters of fuel tank. In terms of capacity, therefore, the F48 should be able to reach top speeds of about 35 knots, with cruising speeds, on the other hand, indicated as 26 knots. The range, on the other hand, is given as 290 nautical miles.
