It’s not just boats at the Boot in Düsseldorf, January 18–26, 2020—there are engines, too. Tohatsu has unveiled a new 115-horsepower outboard, the first prototype in the MFS line, a range of outboard motors that will include four models: MFS75, 90, 100, and 115A.
Tohatsu Outboards unveiled the design and technology of the new prototype—the most powerful model in the new line—in a world premiere at Boot Düsseldorf 2020 (January 18–26, 2020). This line is based on the Japanese manufacturer’s latest models, particularly its best-seller: the Tohatsu MFS40, as well as the MFS9.9/15/20E models. Environmental friendliness with low fuel consumption, high torque during acceleration, and a sporty design are among the features Tohatsu is using to compete in the market.
What’s new
The engineers have also developed a new exhaust manifold design—the first of its kind in outboard motors of this type—that will help further improve the torque output. Research findings from Tohatsu Corporation’s Engineering Department indicate that the MFS115 outboard will be capable of generating extremely high torque. The goal is to reach planing speed more quickly and provide a comfortable, enjoyable, and—above all—reliable boating experience.
The brand-new MFS75/90/100/115A series—and in particular the new MFS115—will be available on the market in two color options: Acqua Marine Blue or Beluga White, and will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Genoa Boat Show.
