Over the course of 2024, we saw them aboard so many boats. They are the e-foil boards for speeding across the sea. A trend that in recent years is making these accessories practically a must-have on board, despite the fact that they are not exactly cheap, quite the contrary. Yet their success is resounding, so much so that many brands have popped up. Some even boast collaborations with automakers such as Audi as the E-tron in this review. We chose three of them.
Before we start with the review, let’s review: what are foils? They are appendages that create lift when the craft picks up speed, which allows it to rise out of the water. The Vinga 3 board is very easy to assemble, as the foil fin fits together with a click system and needs no complicated screws or fasteners. Everything is optimized for beginners, from the weight distribution on the board to the shape of the hull, designed to make it as stable as possible and make up for inexperience. Two hours of charging for as many hours of fun, 20 kg weight and 50 km/h top speed.
The sleek, high-performance lines of Audi cars are found 100 percent in the Audi e-tron foil project, an all-German collaboration between the automaker and Aerofoils. The carbon board is equipped with a foil and e-drive motor for the highest possible stability. It can reach 50 km/h and the battery provides a range of 40 km. The system has a total weight of about 32 kg including battery.
Aluminum, mahogany, carbon and leather. Only fine materials are used to produce this foil board, which gives the Fliteboard an assuredly elegant appearance. The board is inflatable, so it can be stored in a locker or car trunk without any problems. The battery can last up to 1 1/2 hours, and there is a wristband in the package that turns off the board in case of a fall.
