Maserati
launches into the world of powerboats with Maserati Tridente, the Modenese company’s first 100% electric powerboat. It will be an electric-powered 10-meter developed in collaboration with Vita Power. The promised top speed? 40 knots and DC charging capability in less than an hour.
Maserati Tridente
Maserati’s future is 100% electric and it is very near because already by the end of this decade(the official date is 2028), the entire Trident range will be electrified. What better setting than Rimini, in Italy’s Motor Valley, for the Thunderbolt Day, an event at which Maserati put its own emphasis on this new electrical dimension. On the 110th anniversary of the Modena-based manufacturer, the brand is preparing to become the first Italian luxury brand to produce full electric models in the Motor Valley.
This is where a new project comes in: Tridente, Maserati’s electric motorboat. Made in collaboration with Vita Power, it is a 10.5-meter long day boat designed to cruise at 25 knots of cruising speed and 40 knots of top speed. Peak power output from the motors, the specifications of which are not yet known, is 600 horsepower with 252 kWh batteries. All this is designed, then, for full charging in less than an hour.

Maserati’s “road” family remains entirely designed, developed and produced in Italy. The Trident reassured how precisely the historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant will also be at the center of all new electric automotive production. Different discussion regarding what concerns the new speedboat.
This new project does not involve any Italian shipyard for production. In fact, the partner identified, in addition to Vita Yachts technology, to build this 100% carbon fiber boat is American Hodgdon Yachts, a Maine builder with a 200-year history. To this reality “specialist” of luxury tenders will go the task of making these hulls.
