The Venice Boat Show (May 29-June 6) will see the Polish shipyard Balt Yacht make its Italian debut with two very interesting hulls: the Balt 37 Grand and the SunCamper 35. Looking for a first cruising boat, even “without a license”? These hulls are designed to be powered by thrusters even under 40 horsepower. Sure, you won’t have incredible speeds, on the contrary, but this will allow you to immediately approach a boat with which to spend even longer periods aboard.

NB: as far as the rules allow, the advice is always to approach sailing in stages and to have adequate experience before “launching” into cruising. That said, let’s go over the two models.

Balt 37 Grand

The Balt 37 Grand provides what you need to be aboard on both summer and winter days in terms of comfort and equipment. In short, on board you will find what you need to spend long periods on board as if you were at home, but on the water.

A boat, then, that winks at those who want to go on a nice coastal cruising trip, whether they are private or charter owners. Highlights include two master staterooms (with two berths each) equipped with private bathrooms and separate shower stalls, and promises attractive heights in all rooms.

Let us now look at the inboard diesel engines:

  • 110 hp engine for displacement navigation
  • 57-hp engine for displacement sailing at maximum economy
  • 40 hp engine, for boating without the need for a license, even for charter companies

The starting price of the Balt 37 Grand is 198,000€ + vat

What about a “configured” version? The version suggested by the shipyard with extended aft dashboard to accommodate water toys and jet skis, Webasto heating in each cabin, AC cold/heat 16k btu heat pump with in-cab branch and Yanmar 110hp inboard axle line engine costs 214,500€ + vat

SunCamper 35

From Poland a hull that was created for river navigation, but is also suitable for the sea. Imagine a boat that is like a house on the water with space inside and out (including a fly bridge with sundeck and an optional second helm station. Inside, the SunCamper 35 has a well-equipped kitchen, two comfortable bathrooms and up to seven full-size beds, including three in a luxurious main berth, two in the aft berth and two in the saloon.

SunCamper 35

There is space and comfort, therefore, even for a family of five. Among the features of this boat is the very uniquely shaped keel that improves stability and maneuverability. Propulsion is by outboards up to 115 hp, but there are several options: SunCamper 35 can be powered by outboard motors ranging from 25 to 115 horsepower. Let’s say that the first option is suitable for lakes or canals with weak currents or for those who use the boat as a house on the water, while to have a semi-planing version, suitable for the open sea, it is better to go for engines between 100 and 115 horsepower.

We offer options with outboard engine or inboard diesel engine:

  • 115 HP engine – For semi-planing navigation
  • 60 HP engine, for displacement navigation
  • 40 HP inboard diesel engine for displacement navigation and driving without a license

The price of SunCamper 35 is from 88,500€ + vat + engine
