by Sea Time – Marine Watches
A limited edition of just 300 watches for the Diver Blue Shark by Ulysse Nardin. This elegant blue timepiece has a 42mm diameter steel case. The design brief was to create a watch that can be worn every day.
A self-winding Calibre UN-816 offers a reserve of 42 hours power. The date window is positioned above the 6 o’clock mark, making it is easy and immediate to read from the sandblasted face that, from an aesthetic point of view, offers the utmost in formal tidiness while conforming to the classic diving watch style.
The Diver Blue Shark, in fact, has been designed to withstand pressures of up to 300 metres. The back is adorned with an engraving of the brand’s anchor symbol. Alternatively, purchasers can choose the silhouette of a blue shark The number of limited editions is indicated on the side. Other details include the concave bezel and the convex sapphire crystal, providing a vaguely retro flavour that characterises the entire range of Diver 42mm watches.
Ulysse Nardin‘s maritime tradition is further consolidated through Dan Lenard, a mainstay in the world of yacht design, who crossed the Atlantic singlehanded on a 33-foot sailing boat with no motor and no electronic instrumentation. His only crewmate was his Diver Chronometer Great White. The mission? To raise awareness about the health of the oceans – a situation in which time is now a key factor.
