. Today we will look at three of them, from 8 to 11 meters, which are good both as weekender and for those who want something sportier.
Bayliner 305
Temptation first boat? Bayliners are probably among the hulls that have taken the most boaters out to sea in the world with a production run of thousands and thousands of boats each year. Among small and medium-sized businesses, the Brunswick Group brand is an institution. For sale in the Rome area is a Bayliner 305, an ideal model for couples or families with young children. This is because it combines a large protected cockpit with a rather large lounging area in the bow to be used as a sundeck.
At the same time, the volumes below deck make it possible to spend a weekend away with a double berth at the far bow, a salon with a galley and table that becomes a double bed, and a bed at the stern, suitable for toddlers. On board, this model also provides a bathroom with a sink. A rather complete first boat in short, suitable both for approaching the sea as a novice and for short relaxing cruises.
Apreamare 11 Cabin
A classic-looking boat with Apreamare elegance and the ability to take you cruising. A dream to go on a cruise and enjoy every moment both above and below deck. Let’s start from the outside. The “vintage” look does not do justice to the comfort of this boat, especially in the bow sundeck, which is coverable with an awning. In the stern, however, the cockpit is protected by a cover and windshield for sunny days and those with inclement weather.
At 10.75 meters in length, this Apreamare Cabin 11 registered in 2000, has a beam of almost 4 meters (3.93 yards) and is equipped with a classic shaftline combined with two 370-horsepower Volvo Penta engines with about 600 engine hours. Do you want to go on a longer cruise? There are four fairly large sleeping berths on board. For navigation, the fuel tank can accommodate up to 1,000 liters of fuel while the water tank has a capacity of 300 liters (in addition to the electric boiler). In terms of practical on-board “comforts” there are two refrigerators (one inside and one outside), generator, echo sounder GPS, Raymarine autopilot, as well as the tender with 2.5-meter outboard.
Boston Whaler 280 Outrage
We definitely change genres and go on a more modern and sporty craft designed for high speeds (over 45 knots) and adrenaline-fueled fishing trips. We are talking about a Boston Whaler, clearly. In the classifieds section there is currently a fairly recent Boston Whaler 280 Outrage from 2018.
Measuring 8.46 meters long and 2.77 meters wide, it has a total power output of 500 horsepower, given by two Verado F250 outboards that are reported to have 260 hours of sailing time. From the fisherman to the yachtsman who wants a muscular “day-boat,” the 280 is a fairly functional boat (center console) with a 100% fishing stern and a more “cruiser” bow. This Boston Whaler model of the rest is a great “fishing machine” with livewell, divergent and rod holders in addition to the fold-down lateral seats. There is a space on board that can be used as a dressing room/toilet and is equipped with full cushions, as well as a bow table and awnings for coverage .
