Why look to the market for 10-year-old used boats? Two reasons, first of all. The first is economic: the maximum term of a lease is usually 10 years, so it is possible that once the contract is over, the boat will be put up for sale to make a new purchase and a new lease to enjoy the tax benefits and payment deferral. As is the case with cars, the price of this used car becomes very affordable for the new buyer.

the second reason is that for a boat between 15 and 20 meters, 10 years of age often corresponds to models that are still fully current.

A nice boat and a nice savings, then, while waiting for the economy to take off again!

We have selected from ten-year-old boats three models that we think are good choices to look for in the used market.

Three used boats on the 10-year superconvenient

Sunseeker Predator 60

Very aggressive look for a boat that, in addition to performance, can also express a lot of class and elegance. The Predator 60, with its three spacious cabins and many convivial areas, is also very hospitable.

A boat with a rather “angry” tone, it was produced with both classic shaft-line drives and the more high-performance surface propellers, which are coupled to engines of different power ratings, with a total maximum ceiling of 2534 hp.

But beyond its aggressive look, like any British “lord,” the Predator 60 also lets all its class shine through, which is expressed here with luxurious interiors.

Cockpit and salon are in one room without divisions. The aft area is furnished with a central sundeck, on either side of which extend the steps down to the swim platform, which are integrated into the transom. Integrated into an extremely aerodynamic superstructure is a glass sunroof that, together with the large side windows, lets in all the daylight, but does not “cook” those in the middle section of the cockpit, i.e., under the hard top. The crystal is in fact treated to let the sun’s rays pass through, but not their heat. There are two large L-shaped sofas in this area, facing each other, but a little offset from each other, so that there is a huge lounge from the stern to the command post.

Serving this living room, of course, there is no shortage of bar cabinets. In the bow, next to the pilot’s seat is another sofa reserved for guests who want to enjoy sailing together with those at the helm.

Below deck, the rooms are of the highest class and elegance, and the layout includes three cabins and two bathrooms, with the master cabin aft over the entire beam, corresponding to the large portholes on the broadside, and the double forward, followed by the galley and dinette saloon. At the apex of the bow is the elegant VIP cabin.

Sealine SC47

In addition to the great livability and brightness of the rooms on board, the Sealine SC47 also gives the pleasure of sailing on a boat that is maneuverable and has Zeus transmissions, which even make it fun to maneuver in port.

Without a doubt, the Sealine SC47 is an impressive model. It stands out above all for its rational use of interior and deck space and its sober furnishings in perfect harmony with the tastes of the Mediterranean market. But that’s not all, the flagship of this 14-meter coupe is its highly maneuverable hull, specially designed to adopt Zeus transmissions.

The unusually large superstructure windows flood the central cockpit with light even with the hard top closed. A cockpit therefore pleasant to experience both “en plein air” and sheltered from the elements, thanks in part to its large C-shaped dinette, served by a small table with an extendable top to accommodate 5-6 people for dining, and its sofa leaning against the opposite broadside that expands the conversation area.

Also liked is the sundeck, or lounging area when the canopy is closed, set back from the windshield beside the wheelhouse, which allows guests to converse with the pilot. Well-designed then is the must-have wet bar, equipped with a wooden cutting board and bottle compartment located behind the barbecue. The barely-there deckhouse offers a sunbathing area of more than 7 sq m.

Comfortably seated on the dinette sofa, one can appreciate the brightness of the square, achieved by the large window in the ceiling. Serving the dinette is a spacious kitchen. Excellent then is the privacy for the owner, who can count on a full-beam cabin with a central bed and a chaise longue overlooking the sea. Guests are reserved for the forward cabin with a double bed and direct access, on one side, to the toilet and, on the other, to the independent shower room, both of which are also open to the saloon, a very practical solution.

Queens Yachts Queens 54

An all-Italian open, it has a very sporty look and is characterized by the great usability of space on deck and light-toned elegance inside. The below-deck layout recalls that of large motoryachts.

With a sporty look combined with creative elegance, the new Queens 54 debuts. It is an all-Italian open, and on board it offers airy spaces flooded with natural light, not only in the salon on the main deck, but also in the section below deck where the galley is located, which takes advantage of the transparency of the windshield and the windows on the sides.

The deck is designed under the banner of great freedom of movement. You can see this at a glance when looking at the cockpit, the aft swim platform, and all the space forward. Also appreciated in the cockpit is the dinette that converts to a sundeck and the descent steps, carved into the transom, to facilitate diving into the sea.

Beneath the opening hard top stretches a salon with two opposing sofas, furnished in an original informal modern style that plays on a contrast of light shades and bright colors. The galley is created in a room below deck, just to extend the living area on the upper deck, and is very well equipped.

In fact, among other equipment, it has a 180-liter refrigerator-freezer, a combination microwave oven, an extractor hood, and four burners in the glass-ceramic cooktop. The below-deck deck is then completed with the sleeping area, which includes three cabins. When it comes to space and elegance, the VIP, which is located at the apex of the bow, is designed with the same canons as the midships owner’s cabin extended over the entire beam. Two other guests stay in the double cabin, positioned along the starboard broadside, and takes advantage of the same bathroom as the forward cabin, accessed through the entrance located in the hallway opposite the galley.
