How the new Veratron OL 43 revolutionizes onboard electronics
With a 4.3-inch display and five buttons you always have an eye on your boat’s parameters.
Veratron, a Swiss company founded in 1972 (then VDO Technik AG) is now a benchmark in on-board electronics solutions thanks to nearly 50 years of experience. Initially active in the automotive, motorcycle and bicycle sectors for major European brands, its expertise has evolved with work in the marine sector, where the brand is recognized for its production of digital and analog instruments for the nautical sector, always designed and manufactured at its historic headquarters in Rùthi, with strategic subsidiaries, opened over the years, in Japan and the United States. Veratron products are distinguished by compact size, extreme robustness, easy integration with both modern and older engines and systems thanks to full compatibility with analog sensors as well. The company constantly invests in innovation to offer instruments that improve safety and comfort on board, supporting the reliability demanded by demanding shipowners.
The newest addition is theOL 43, a digital color multifunction display with a 4.3-inch TFT IPS screen and mineral glass lens. It offers great readability under the sun and clearly displays vital parameters such as engine data (rpm, temperature, consumption, hours, range), tank status (water, fuel) and batteries (voltage, charge, health, range). OL 43 is ultra-rugged (IPX7), ready to withstand water, rain and high temperatures, and responsive: power-up is instantaneous, with no delay in notifying you of data and alarms that need your attention.
Connectivity without compromise
Connectivity is at the highest level: compatible with NMEA 2000 and SAE J1939 protocols, it integrates two converted analog inputs for traditional sensors, plus an HTML5 Ethernet port that enables advanced graphical interfaces and the use of web-based apps. The interface is customizable (one to four motors), and operation is intuitive with a keypad that ensures operation even with wet or gloved hands. This instrument represents the synthesis of experience, innovation and efficiency: more than just a display, but a true control unit for your boat, suitable for both new installations and retrofits.Veratron ‘s new OL 43 will be available through the brand’s distributor network starting in October 2025.
