With a sea debut scheduled for summer 2023, Centouno Navi announces the start of construction of Vespro, its new (15.5 m) high-performance boat. A design that on paper shows real promise, offering very high top speeds close to 56 knots and providing as much as 50 knots of cruising speed. All driven by dual hydrojet motors. But now let’s take a closer look at how it will develop.
Vespers One Hundred and One Ships
After its sisters Forza and Eterea, the shipyard founded by M. Lucchesi and M. Arnaboldi thus introduces a new ‘entry-level’ boat, whose international presentation will take place in autumn 2023. Confirmed are the dimensions, 16.50 meters for the LOA and 4.60 meters at maximum beam, respectively, while the material will follow that of the ‘cousins’: carbon and fiberglass in a high-performance hybrid sandwich.
Vespers – Exterior and Interior
At first glance, looking at the renderings and the design, the lines appear very sleek, giving the boat a dynamic appearance, balanced by the profile of the superstructure. The feeling is that the weight slopes toward the aft, restoring balance to the complex. The design of this section (toward the bow) is from a pure open, classic in that sense, but along the boat is renewed by more contemporary elements. These thus create a more modern appearance, amplified by the knock-down masonry.
The cockpit should then be composed of a large sundeck, while the surrounding spaces are designed to provide ample movement, offering a walkaround approach. Under the hard top is a large L-shaped sofa, a dining table, and a second facing sofa. Immediately further forward is a mobile bar and the helm station. On the forward deck, however, a full-beam sundeck is provided. Below-deck accommodation includes a double forward berth with private bathroom, while a large salon with kitchen will be the hub of indoor conviviality. Optionally, a second dedicated guest cabin is provided.
Vespers – Hull and Motorization
The hull, ensuring high performance, consists of a carbon and fiberglass structure in a hybrid sandwich consisting of epoxy-based vinylester resin and PVC foam core. In terms of propulsion, on the other hand, hydrojet propulsion is expected, specifically, two 1,200-horsepower MAN 8v engines coupled to MJP 350X hydrojets. All in all, an adrenaline-fueled hull-engine combination, which on paper predicts cruising speeds around 50 knots, and peak speeds around 56 knots, for a range of as much as 350 nautical miles.
