One of the most interesting boats for 2025 is this: the JPK Nomad 40. It stood out for its sleek, seductive lines, but won over the entire editorial staff with its space management and, most importantly, the sailing skills it promises.

JPK Nomad 40: what sets it apart
Nomad 40 is a 12-meter cruiser that was designed with the idea of combining the space of a power boat with the sailing characteristics of a sailboat. From the numbers we were given, it seems that the feat has succeeded: at 10 knots of cruising speed, this boat consumes just 1 mile per liter. Not bad for a 12-meter boat! But there’s more: from the power boat it inherits not only space, but also a top speed of an impressive 18 knots, thanks to a planing hull. And it manages to do all this with a single-engine shaftline, Yanmar, with a maximum power output of 250 hp. In short, Nomad 40 has all the makings of a champion of efficiency when it comes to running costs.
Space management
As for the interior, there are plenty of spaces, but they are almost all dedicated to conviviality. There are 6 berths, but really comfortable turn out to be only the two in the forward master cabin. The others are makeshift, just like on a sailboat. The same cannot be said of the main salon, a large open space that takes up more than half the boat and, thanks to a large opening, becomes one space with the cockpit and, in turn, with the water, once you pull down the transom to turn it into a little beach.
How much does it cost?
The price of JPK Nomad 40 starts at 407 thousand euros excluding VAT.
