Powered by a 350- or 380-horsepower Volvo Penta V8, Wama 26 is a hull designed for comfort and fun, ideal for water sports outings, relaxation and speed. Folding bulwarks, huge modular sundeck and attractive performance.
Added to this is a forward cabin with bunks, closing an ideal package for fully enjoying summer days.
Wama 26S
Available with both inboard W/Forward Drive and outboard motors, the new Wama 26S has a rigid T-Top that also offers protection from the sun, while, the hull, equipped with water-ballast, trim-tabs and surf gates, is instead optimized for speed and handling.
Looking forward to its official launch in Cannes, here is a preview.
How is this 8-meter boat designed
At a glance, looking at the Wama 26S immediately captures the desire to offer a hull capable of meeting the wide variety of needs that a day at sea may require.
And, the layout as well as the choice of furnishings well underscore this.
The large aft sundeck is perhaps the element that first catches the eye, a full-beam surface that engages the entire aft portion of the cockpit, however, with a twist.
This, in fact, is composed of several movable elements, thus offering different use options capable of transforming it from a simple sundeck to a sofa, chaise longue with backrests, or huge solarium.
This, which already overlooks the aft bridge, is then joined by folding bulwarks, a solution that not only expands the walkable volumes but also creates two terraced platforms on the sea.
Just beyond, below the T-Top, two additional seats furnish the bridge, in turn versatile thanks to swiveling backrests.
Here, integrated with the uprights of the T-Top, two tops provide support for the seating, cleverly exploited as if they were tables serving the sofas.
The top above, on the other hand, in bimini, then offers the possibility of being extended or closed, leaving the option free according to weather conditions.
From the bridge, a central walkway then leads to the bow, where the raised deck simultaneously provides additional outdoor space usable as a sundeck and, below deck, gains volume for the cabin, host to a U-shaped sofa usable as a double berth.
Motorization and performance
Coming to performance, the Wama 26S is intended to be a hull capable of significant agility and speed, and so the motorization and hull emphasize.
Also available in an outboard version, however, the Wama 26S is primarily designed for Volvo Penta W/Forward Drive engines, i.e., propellers with pull rather than push, available in 350- or 380-horsepower V8 variants.
In this configuration, the figures speak for themselves: 45 knots top speed, 32 knots at cruising speed.
Assisting the helmsman, trim tabs and surf gates help stabilize and ensure maximum handling, thus underscoring how, indeed, the Wama 26S really wants to be not only comfortable but also easy, agile and fun.
Finally, there is also a bow thruster to facilitate in maneuvering.
