Dynamic like never before. This is the statement that introduces us to the brand new Windy 40 Camira RS: “dynamic like never before.” A presentation that well matches the previews released by the shipyard, which thus announces the return of its line of sport-cruisers. At 12.55 meters long, cabin cruiser and complete with every accessory to enjoy one’s days on the water, the new Camira 40 RS will be a boat not only suitable for sport cruising, but also deeply devoted to performance, with peak speeds expected at 44 knots.

The new Camira 40 RS is thus an attractive cabin cruiser designed for fast cruising and on-board comfort. From the capacious garage for water toys to the diverse and well-kept lounge areas, the preview hints at a boat with an active and dynamic spirit, underscored by sleek lines and a layout that suggests a lot of attention to comfort and fun. While waiting for its world premiere, scheduled for the Cannes 2023 kermesse, let’s see what we know so far about this new model.

Windy 40 Camira RS – Exterior

Even at a first glance, the relative lines and profile design of the Camira 40 RS evokes a boat geared toward performance and fun. Indeed, the forward leaps and dynamics of the design are accentuated by the design choices, as emphasized, for example, by the broadside windows and the profile of the new T-top. The command position is also innovative compared to its predecessors in the segment, here re-designed to be more ergonomic and suitable for hull-imposed sporty enjoyment.

Looking at the deck spaces, there is no lack of dynamic import, with ample space also relegated to encourage water sports, as emphasized by the large aft garage, hidden by the large sundeck above it. In fact, space is carved out in here for water toys, wakeboards, and seasleds.

Moving around the cockpit, however, the atmosphere becomes more comfort-oriented. Sheltered by the T-top, in fact, are a large lounge area (complete with an L-shaped sofa and table) and the dashboard, served by wraparound upholstered seating. To the left, on the bridge, accesses to the bow and below deck are also located.

Windy 40 Camira RS – Interior

Looking at the interior, the Design Unlimited team presents us with a modern boat with a well-thought-out layout, where every space is taken advantage of, offering what is needed to spend several nights on board. Indeed, as soon as you enter you are greeted by a hallway equipped with a kitchen and countertop. Here there are, in addition to the cooktop and sink, several cabinets, an oven and a refrigerator. Just beyond this is the forward living area, consisting of a U-shaped sofa served by a central coffee table.

Opposite the galley, on the other hand, are entrances to the toilet room (complete with shower) and the aft cabin, the latter of which is available as a single or double. The materials adopted for construction promise high levels of quality, and looking at the preview, the design of the spaces looks elegant and clean, with rounded corners and well-thought-out shape harmonies.

Propulsion

Coming to performance and motorization, we will have to wait until the first hull is actually put in the water to know about the former, but on paper they still appear to be peaking at 44 knots of speed. In terms of propulsion, however, Windy announced three options: a pair of Volvo Penta D6-440 AQ, a pair of Yamaha 400 OBs and, finally, a possible triple Yamaha 300 OB.
