A small wonder, an almost ideal solution for all those who want nothing more than to forget about roll and seasickness: the gyroscopic stabilizer. That seasickness can in fact ruin even the most pleasant of days at sea is known to most. But technologies are advancing even at these junctures, and Seakeeper’s range of gyroscopic stabilizers promises exactly that: eliminating roll by up to 95 percent. A truly remarkable reduction. But does it really work? Try it for yourself, this summer, firsthand! Where. In some of the most beautiful locations in Corsica and Sardinia.
SEAKEEPER SUMMER DEMO TOUR 2022
Starting July 31, and running until August 17, Seakeeper has in fact made available a Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck with a Seakeeper 2 installed on it. And anyone who would like to take advantage of the opportunity will be welcome guests for the duration of the Seakeeper Summer Demo Tour, for which information can be found here.
How exactly does this system work? And what conditions of application does it provide?
Seakeeper – Gyroscopic Stabilizer for Boats
The proposed stabilization system is based on a concept that is as simple as it is functional: the gyroscope. Basically, inside the entire stabilizing element is placed a sphere, and inside it, under vacuum, is placed a flywheel capable of approximately 9700 revolutions per minute (a rotation of up to 557 miles per hour). And here the magic is accomplished. In relation to the boat’s roll, which is controlled by a computerized system, the sphere in turn tilts backward and forward producing precession. In this way, enough gyroscopic torque is produced to oppositely counteract the rolling of the boat itself. This is the system that virtually cancels out roll, whether cruising or stationary, and is also extremely easy to handle. It is seamlessly integrated to a touch screen panel that can be installed in the dashboard and is extremely intuitive to control.
Seakeeper – Consumption and Applications
Besides then the obvious advantage brought by the stabilization system, there are other details that make it an essential accessory for many. First, it runs on low power consumption, which is excellent news in an increasingly sustainability-focused landscape. What’s more, it can be installed almost anywhere . Whether it is a boat to be purchased, or one that you already own. Obviously, however, just any gyroscope cannot adapt to boats of excessively different sizes and displacements. But the company has, of course, provided for this as well, and thus offers models suitable from 23 to 85 feet, and beyond. Basically, an ideal solution for, almost, every need.
For those interested in trying out the system, please remember to contact the organizers: information here. For more information about the system itself instead, visit the manufacturer’s website.
